Tuesday...

I doubt if I do much today unless I get a burst of energy that has not hit me yet.  I have been up since 4:30 but should have been because I slept most of yesterday afternoon.

I made coffee and I have eaten a handful of grapes. The grapes are very good. They were on sale yesterday.

I guess I could put on an old movie to listen to and put away this last tote of odds and ends I moved from the trailer....It is a mix of mess...clothes, kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff, just odds and ends that I have had a little left over from unpacked totes...Fleta would just burn it...LOL I probably should too but I imagine I will sort through it all and put it up...

I am going to cook some beans today. That sounds good. Gilbert gave me some Hog Jowl. I think I will put a slice of that in them.

It is nice and cool here in the mornings and at night. I love this weather.

Fleta made some whole wheat buns on Sunday. They were so good...

Oh I have to tell you about my apple cinnamon jelly... I used the apple peelings from my canned apples and made juice and then jelly. I made jelly without using pectin. I wanted to make sure it set up so I cooked it to death! I used 8 cups of apple juice and 4 cups of sugar...I ended up with 3 pints of jelly...that is 6 cups for anyone that has not figured it out yet....4 cups of which was sugar! well I opened a jar of it a day or so ago...Sure enough it set up...It can stand up on it's own... you can get it out of the jar...BUT you can NOT spread it! Oh I had to laugh...I think I could reheat it and make cinnamon coated apples...it's a mess. I will have to offer some to Fleta...LOL I have a gallon and a half more of juice that I froze. I am going to get pectin to make jelly out of the rest of the juice.
I wish I had made the jelly made when Erin came to see me...I could have sent a jar home with her.

I have got to start my day. I have been up for hours and all I have done is read on the net... It's almost 8....What a waisted morning I have spent!

Monday...

JR called this morning and asked me to take Emily to Walmart....which worked out great for me cause I needed a few things in the line of groceries...I was feeling fine...When I got home I was beat. It seems I have a very productive day and then the next I get so tired I just want to sleep...

George came up for awhile after I got home and I layed down before he even left...

Fleta came in and brought me 2 chicken patties...I got up a few minutes ago and ate one...Thank you very much. It is one of my favorites.

Then George called a few minutes ago and told me there were about 5 deer down below my house right by Dan's fence. I got up a little while and looked at them. I tried to take a picture but my camera is nothing like Fleta's. George bush hogged down there today so you could really see them good.

Lane stayed in Branson last night but his dad and Emmie went to pick him up around 1. I guess they are back home.

I took a bath around 6 and I am ready for bed. It is nice and cool in the house.

Jr is taking off work a few days and Emily goes back to school Wednesday. It is nice she is off with Lane a few days...

Fleta also brought me the new study book we got at the coin Church....I have not opened it yet but on the front it said...Why is God Radical?...oh my....this may not be the book for me...
Oh yes...and this is FLETA'S GRAND DAUGHTER 2 weeks ago at  Church..They were displaying the posters they made....I could post at least a dozen more pictures of this event equally as telling as this one... enjoy Patsy...

Could Not Ask For A Prettier Day..

oh it was so pretty...

We got JR and the 2 kids home just fine. Lane saw his mom for a short while at Branson. He is home sleeping now. I imagine they are all asleep. They were so tired.

After I got home I decided to take Bandit for a spin. We rode to Jonell Rudd's house. He was tired when we got home but I think it was harder on me. I pulled off his bridle and tied him up below the house in the shade and I came in and got something to eat and drink. I now need to tend to him. Take the saddle off and brush him down and give him a few bites of feed...Just so he will forget how bad I worked him and let me catch him next time. Boy Betty, you are so wrong about it not being much work riding him....My legs are still weak and my arm achs from whipping him so much. He has a very smooth gate but it is all I can do to keep him at that speed.

I passed the crazy Douglas Road Walking Lady on my return home trip.

Going TO Springfield...

at 10 to pick up the three wayward kids that belong to Fleta. It is really a nice drive and I do not mind at all. We may have to drop Lane off in Branson to stay with his Mamma a day or so but I hope we get to bring him on home. George is going with me because he has really missed Lane. If Lane stays in Branson George would not get to see him for a few days...

The snake smell is almost completely gone...Thank goodness.

I have been working on putting more stuff away here at Claytons. I almost have it all finished. Erin there is a ton of greasy hand buildup on his wood cupboard doors. I tried a Mr Clean sponge, it just crumbled it. I tried a baking soda paste. I have now bought a scrub brush. any ideas....They are so built up they are hard to open. You know they do not look so bad till you touch them...

Well I have Hummers again here at Claytons. At least 6 or so. I know you are not supposed to feed them through the winter and they migrate... But who knows maybe they just die right herewhen they have nothing to eat. I will check the net to see what it says..

I think I will put on a pair of tennis shoes and walk to Dans this morning

A Foggy Friday Morning...

here in Carroll County...

The horse has been to the fence...He missed me. I should put on some shoes and feed him a handful, but I am a little lazy.

Winnie Jo, I have been thinking about you coming down on the 11th... I think you should spend the night with me. There is a bed in the back room but it is hard as a rock...plus the back room spooks me. BUT...I could bring the queen mattress out into the living part of the house...there is plenty of room and I have one of those  tall blow up mattress I could put on top of that mattress...I know you and I could sleep on it quiet comfortable and your hubby could have my twin bed. which is very nice...Or maybe he would prefer the blow up mattress..., Either way I would have good food. Clayton's bathroom  is quiet nice and I am sure it would be as comfortable as any hotel around here....PLUS the company would be exceptional.... Just  think about it. I have a dish pan we could wash out feet in....I always think of that picture of you, your Mom, and Aunt Betty Lou washing your feet in a dish pan, in Grandma Powell's bedroom. It is a great picture...

Two squirrels are playing in the tree here in the yard. I love to watch them. It is going to be winter before ya know it.

I spoke to Missy this morning. JR was up and dressed at 4AM ready to go to the base to see Lane. They are going to the San Diego Zoo in the morning before they come home. The two kids were so happy to see Lane. He had lots of stories to tell. They will get to take him at noon today. Missy said several of the soldiers had no 'people' there to meet them. BUT not our Lane! I will pick up the three of them is Springfield Sunday around noon. I am sure Lane will stop and see his Mom in Branson on the way home. I'll bet we can get a free lunch out of JR. Emily is having a great time. They went to the ocean yesterday...

I have a load of laundry I need  to wash today at JR's. I use his washer and dryer. He never complains. If he has any laundry I usually do it also. I figure it all comes out even in the wash! Oh, I am witty this morning!

My coffee is way strong this morning. after I had 2 cups I filled it back up with water. Hopefully the next cup will be better.

The yard looks much better. I do not think the pens and stuff bothered Brother...Or maybe he thought someday he would get more turkeys to raise. He did talk about it some right before he died. He had someone looking for turkey eggs for him to hatch. Then again, JR said he would just build another pen when he wanted to raise something new. Which is what it looked like to me. Easier to build a new one than fix the old ones still there.  They were a mess. Big trees grown up through them. LOL
