Clayton's address is 447 County Road, Green Forest, Arkansas.....When you come down do you go almost to Harrison and cut off and go through Alpena? I am not sure which way you will be coming...Let me know what is the town you go through before GF and I will give you directions....BUT I will also come meet you so you sure will not get lost...
Today, I went over to Coin and cleaned a little on the Church....Fleta cleaned a little less than me...LOL Then we drove to GF and ate lunch at the Country Rooster and I picked up a few things from the grocery store...We got home and I laid in the bed for two hours and then decided to get up...
Sam and Emmie came up and rode the horse...I baked some cookies from the dough I bought from Emmie from school. I made a carrot pineapple cake with cream cheese frosting....I made it into a layer cake and used some of Clayton's pecans. I made some fudge for Emmie...I need to take her some since it has set up. I made chicken and noodles for me and I assembled a pan of chicken enchiladas to cook in the morning....Plus I am making scalloped potatoes.
This evening I burned my trash and threw a bunch more limbs across the fence. I have it all cleaned behind the house and out by the road where the grape vines grow....I still have a big pile of limbs on the west side of the yard and over on Dan's.....But I could not clean them up today... It looks so much better than it did a month ago... I still have not got the windows clean....
I colored my hair yesterday...it is not so gray now....Thank goodness...
I am bushed. I am taking fudge to Emmie and some to Robert. Then I am taking a hot bath and going to bed.

Betty...Can We Have A sleepover....
We will invite Fleta....Winnie and Mike are staying at the camper....So I have an empty floor...
It cooled off last night. I put on my fuzzy socks and my fuzzy robe to sit on the porch this morning... It is so nice... The coffee was good.
I got all of the windows opened at Clayton's, but I will have to get JR to close them when it gets to cold....We are not there yet...
I wanted to make chicken and noodles today since it is cool. Having the stove on will be nice. I knew I had 2 chicken hind quarters in the freezer. I dug around in there and also found half a chicken in a zip lock bag.A few days before Clayton passed, he brought me down some chicken and dressing. I bet this is the other half of the chicken. So I am boiling it too. I guess I will make chicken enchilada casserole for the pot luck...LOL
Since I found the chicken in the freezer I decided to dig a little more. I found a large bag of pecans. I had to laugh. He loved nuts in sweet breads. I am sure he threw a handful into almost every thing he baked. he was not about to pick out black walnuts.
Winnie, come on down and we will show you around the house. We all love looking at the walls and where things used to be. When Clayton lived here we did not really roam all over the house. But we all look everywhere now. All of Fleta's kids I have been given the grand tour to. I need to look through the pictures and find old ones of inside the house.
Girls, I want a chain saw. I need to do some trimming. Maybe George will let me borrow his. I wonder if Sammy has one.

Rainy Night....
Fleta's three Grand Kids and the Marr Girl just went home. They had been up here since about 5. Emily and Sam wanted to ride Bandit. They did for about 20 minutes but then they were rained out. So all 4 came inside and played....Hide n Seek....This ole house had not seen that much racket in 20 years I'll bet...Emily hid Hannah in a drawer....Boy we all had a good time. Greg came and picked up the 2 little ones and then Sam and Emmie went home. No one was in any hurry to leave. I am glad they had a good time.
It has really been raining today...I suppose this is the end of summer weather for sure. I kind of hate to see it go....I do not mind fall but it is hard to enjoy it because you know winter is just around the corner!
After talking to Fleta I decided I was going to make BBQ pulled pork for the pot luck. I love it so any leftovers I will eat...
So Fleta said, "Then next week we have to make something else." I was confused and then she said for Kenny's Birthday...I told her all of Francis daughter-N-laws and Virginia cook to good for me to make anything...Fleta said she had been to many years and not brought anything...I think last year I took BBQ...but I am sure it was not as good as others....Then Fleta said...Get this....'Even Winnie Jo brings something......' Like, of course she does Fleta, She has manners.... I guess I could make a desert...cause I like doing that... Betty, do not bring that ole cake you make with no leveling in it! Talk Erin into making a cake... or have one of your Grand Girls make one....
Fleta is taking wings and pumpkin pies to the pot luck.....I hope the pies are as good as the ones she made last week....

October is here...
It's a beautiful day here in the Ozarks. It is cooler than it has been the past week. The wind is blowing yellow leaves all over the yard.
Patsy has not been posting. I spoke to her a few days ago and she was not feeling good. Patsy if you do not post soon I will have to go check on you.
I had to go to town yesterday. I do not go unless I just have to. I needed gas for the lawn mower. I got the gas and mowed the lawn. I have been working outside all morning. Plus I am doing laundry at JR's. I often stay down there while I wash since I only have one load or two. I have two today because I changed the bedding plus I had Hannah spend the night so I had extra laundry.
I caught Bandit this morning and rode him out the road. I went to the paved road. I gave him a good brushing and trimmed his hair. He had burs in his front mane. He looks slick and fat. I love it. He was easier to get down the road this time. Thank Goodness.
Saturday Fleta and I am going to the Coin Church to help clean. It is inside cleaning. I am not crazy about it but I really should go help. Fleta is going to walk over there. I will drive. This Sunday is Family Day at the Church. We are having a pot luck. Kris said I should make chicken enchilada casserole. It has shredded chicken, onion, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, green enchilada sauce, and cheddar cheese with torn corn tortillas layered. I don't know if they would like that or not. I am more of a desert baker but I feel I should make a main dish. I could always make a desert for pennies. So I might make an apple pie. I guess I will see.
I have just been sitting outside on the computer. The mail man just went by. I got the electric bill yesterday, It was $68. and the water bill was $26. That is a lot less than I figured they would be. Which is nice.
I have to add, I was pulling grass this morning in front of the porch and when I reached the big crack that runs all the way to the ground, it was obvious the snake crawled to the lower front of the porch to die. I think the other one crawled back under the front door. This one has not bothered me at all.

The Snake is Dead...
and stinking a little. Since I knew it was going to stink and shot it anyway I should not complain.
Clayton's kitchen is a big mess. He needs to clean it. I made cinnamon rolls yesterday evening and then went to Fleta's and fed her two....Then went to JR's and did a load of laundry. By the time I got home I did not feel like cleaning the mess. The only time it bothers me is when I have gone in there for coffee. I am going to JR'S when I get through with this.... Pick up my 2 pair of jeans and then I am coming back and clean.....I think....maybe.
Greg and George came up yesterday morning and filled the BIG pot holes in the road.....Greg said he was tired of spilling his coffee every night when he drove through them. If it had bothered me that much I would have driven through the yard.....boy, Clayton would have hated that.
JR, Lane, and Emmie drove to KC last night. They spent the night and put Lane on a plane this morning. Lane had to fly out at 7 AM. That means they should have dropped him off around 5. They should be home soon. They sure do miss him when he is gone. I do not know if Lane gets to keep his phone for the next 30 days or not. He is going to be training 60 miles north of LA. Then he gets 4 days leave and goes to 29 Palms where he will be stationed. At least I think this is what is going on.
Boy, the snake stinks! LOL
