Warmer soon

At least I hope!

Today was another really cold day. I left the water running last night, hot and cold, plus the heater is on, and I even left the heater on here in the living room. It was way too hot in my bed, but at least the pipes didn't freeze. Pipes not freezing up is pretty important to me.

I went to town today. This is the third time I've driven my car this year. I really don't go a lot. I did let it warm up before I took off in it. I don't want to hurt my poor little ole engine. I noticed today that my tags will be up in March, so I think I need to just register it here in Arkansas.

The sourdough starter has not been very successful. It's kind of like tending to a child, that  you  don't really want to look after. It seems to be very picky on growing. I may get some whole wheat flour and start feeding it that, maybe it will grow a little better. Everyone says you're supposed to give it a name, but I really don't think I'm going to get that attached to it. It may be in the trash pretty soon.

I I don't know what the high was today, but I don't think it was above freezing, and I'll leave the water on again tonight. The heater is on in the bathroom and the kitchen, but I am turning this one here in the living room way down. I just cannot stand that heat at night. I had to kick Lexi's blanket off last night because it was just too warm.

I was thinking today that I wish Mackenzie lived closer to me. She could come over and clean my house. It's not like it's really all that dirty, but it's certainly not showroom clean, that's for sure, and I especially have a large sewing mess here behind my spa chair.

I started lettuce growing again in my water growers in the house. I have basil in one that is so big and I have so much basil, and I do like it, but a little bit goes a long way. You really only need like one plant, and I have like 10 that I keep chopping and cutting. I'm trying to think of something else I could do with it, besides adding it to olive oil and making a pesto out of it, I mean, you can only eat so much pesto.

When I went to town today, I picked up some fruit and I set three bananas and two apples out here for my sister, thinking she might stop by on her way home, but she did not. I did not get in the car and take it to her, which I should have. I'm sure her bananas are either used up or overripe, as she only buys groceries about once a week.

I did a little crocheting on my baby blanket today, but I have not been very inspired about it. I know that I really need to be sewing and cleaning up some of the material mess I have here. I'm still wanting to make some soup bowl cozies, but Betty has not sent me a pattern. I may have to get online and download one, as Jr's printer is at Fleta's house. I could always print it off there rather than go back to the library, which is where I usually go to print things and send faxes.

I have been taking vitamin D and calcium for at least two months, but I don't think it's working very well because my fingernails are still pretty soft. I'm sure it isn't helping my bones either. I think next month I'm going to get some of those gel tablets again for vitamin D and some gel calcium, as I seem to digest that a lot easier. I can't remember what I was taking at the time to make my fingernails strong and hard.

On my way to town today, I saw a large coyote that we have running around here. It is huge and just prances around out in the open during the daytime, unafraid of anything. It was over by Newberry's turkey pen today, boldly trotting down the road at 11 o'clock.

Tomorrow is Thursday, and Friday would have been my mother's birthday. She was born in 1921, so she would have been 104. I'm sure she was glad she did not live this long.

My kids taken the day Mac got married. They look so good!
