Betty says she tries not to cry about the cold. I'm not that nice; I complain about it all the time. Fleta went to work again today. Hannah and Eliseo are supposed to go to work at McDonald's this evening, but I don't worry about them nearly as much. They're young and tough. Greg is off today, so I gathered up leftover food and stuff to send to his house. It's always a good place to get rid of things I don't want, like canned chili - yuck. But he eats stuff like that periodically.
I made chicken and noodles today, and they were delicious. I made a big instant pot full of them, and then I ate what I wanted and called Eliseo up here to get the rest because Hannah just loves them. When I called and told her I had them made, she sent him up here in no time.
It's 28 degrees Fahrenheit outside right now. The low tonight is supposed to be 17 degrees. I have put blankets over some of my windows, and I pulled down all the blinds and closed them up. It is just flat-out cold.
I went to town today and picked up a couple of things, mainly because I thought, "Who knows what tomorrow will bring?" But I need to go tomorrow and get cash to send to Betty Jean. I owe her some money. I'm still paying off my roof, but this will be the end of it - hallelujah!
It's great to have sisters to borrow money from. I went to Erin's yesterday and picked up a big bag of clothes. I have washed them and folded most of them, and have them in a box to be sent to my little Wrenly tomorrow. Mackenzie said that she can always use some leggings, and there were several pairs. I'm sending several to Mackenzie.
I bought 3 pairs of fleece-lined leggings that I was going to keep a pair and give Fleta 2 pairs, but she didn't want them. I wore one pair, but when I bent over, they rolled down on my rear end. I guess that's because I got a medium size, and I'm not medium. So I just sent all 3 of those to Mackenzie, and if she can't wear them, Melissa can, and she's always cold.
Bill is just moving right along on his building. He has one of the lifts up and ready to go. He has a friend who's going to make him something so he can use it with his compressors and leave them outside in a shed, so they won't make so much noise in the shop. It's great to have friends, and he has several. I never really developed that skill, and I don't miss it. Rhea is the only good friend I have.
I have ordered a canvas picture of my Wrenly, and I cannot wait to get it. It is red and white colors, so it will match my couch. I can't wait to hang it on the wall.
I stopped into Dollar General yesterday and looked for more penny items, and found way more flowers that were originally $5 a stem, and I got them for a penny each. I love a bargain. I probably should spend this extra time while it's so cold sewing or something, but basically, I'm not done anything.
Someone came and visited me not long ago, I guess it was Rhea. I cleaned the house up for that, and I've just not dirtied it back up. So that's been kind of nice. Yesterday, I did get down on my knees and scrub my white rug in the bedroom, though, and it looks so much better than it did.
Greg just texted me, and thanked me for the food. He,s always so appreciative.
Fleta has been cleaning up her house, and I know that because she's sending all her junk up here to me. She sent me 2 of Hannah's prom dresses, size zero. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with those things.
Betty says she's coming up to see us when the weather warms up. That would be nice, but I bet I'll make it down to see her before she gets up here.
It's only 3:30. That is too early to go to bed, even for me. I guess I'll vacuum the floor. That ought to take about 5 minutes.
I'll tell you, I have a very busy schedule and a very interesting life here.
Jan 2022. Things could be worse!
