Thinking...

I have always liked James Garner, the actor. I got to thinking about him today and remembered the Polaroid camera commercials he made in the early 80's with Mariette Hartley. I remembered them being so funny. I thought  I would look them up on YouTube and post one so we could all laugh. Does anyone remember them fondly?. Well, I watched about 20....None of them made me laugh and only one even made me smile.  They were not as good as I remembered. It was disappointing.

Betty asked me if I had driven with Kenzie. About a week ago when she found out she was going to get her permit in a few days. I told her if she asked her daddy I would take her to the school parking lot and let her drive just a bit. Well, the answer was NO....NO like I was crazy for even asking. She did not have a permit yet and so she could not drive. I can kind of understand that but then......

Last night a 5:00 PM Darrel took her down to get her permit. Now in the state of WA to get a permit you have to sign up for a class......You do not take a test before getting the permit...You sign up for the class, pay 450.00 and then go get a permit and then start taking classes...Make since..

So Darrel and Mac signed up on line and then yesterday he drove to the DMV. He paid another 30.00 and wham she had a permit!...THEN...

Darrel and Mac walked out of the DMV. Darrel tossed her the car keys and told her she could drive.....
She has never been behind the wheel. He gave no instructions, and Mac asked for none, After all Granny drives how hard can it be... She ran over 2 curbs and almost hit a car. She stopped in the middle of the parking lot right in front of a car...Head to head.... Darrel decided he would then take over....Isn't there a saying like, Stupid is as stupid does...

I told him he needed to take her to a parking lot,,,He said, I did!

It was the Walmart parking lot at 5 PM.

Things have changed since we drove to get the mail when we were 12 or so.

Fleta took me to get my drivers license at Berryville. I don't think I even had to drive but maybe I did.

all my kids had many years of pasture and back road driving before they were turned loose on the public.
