The kids have no school today.
Fleta went to parent Teacher conference yesterday. She took Hannah and Robert with her, She said she thought since they were going to be talking about the kids they should be there, This was a new concept to me. I did no ask her if any of the other parents had their school age children there or not. Not that it would have mattered to Fleta...Ya know that whole, "If a friend jumps off a cliff thing," I'll bet Fleet has said that one.
Anyhoo....it all went well I think. The kids are adjusting pretty good...That is a big thing to me..
Hannah scored a little low and is getting extra help, by her desk I think, not sent out of the room...I like that...Robert scored just a little higher than Hannah in 2 areas..One was Social Studies. I forget the other. They both scored in the 70's in those 2 things I believe....Could be wrong on that...but it was passing...on both. As Grandpa says , "Robert is no dummy!" and that is correct...I say he is the most loving, caring, emphatic kid I have ever seen...AND SO POLITE...I think we can think his old past Eureka teacher for that...You know the one that Robert said loved him in her heart! I see why she did....Maybe...Maybe..Hannah has decided she HAS to go to school no matter what. Fleta told her she had to go for 12 years...I was not with them at the time but I imagine Hanna's head spun all of the way around on her neck with that news....Then again she may have thought, "We'll just see about that!' No telling but I am sure Fleta can handle it...And Hannah will get caught up. She is very smart. No one doubts that!
Yesterday Brother turned 69. He looks the same as he did 10 years ago. I do not see any difference in him. I think his big celebrating was sitting on the porch watching Dan Norton and his family round up cows to sell.
I made Clayton a carrot cake, and one for our house down here. Fleta said it was pretty good but not as good as Yvonne someone at work...I said "Yes but ole Yvonne did not make us one." She said she would have if we had told her it was Clayton's birthday. So maybe we should tell her next week after we eat this one... I wonder if she can make Cinnamon rolls like Mama. Bet not.
I would say Erin should bring us something home made but she is getting skinny and we are so proud. I would not want to jinx that,,,,But from what I see with all of her walking she could walk it up to us if she made something.
Fleta has long since went to work. George is up. Greg got to come home last night and he is off to work in Berryville today. Jr is down by Sercey I think. But who knows he sure gets around. He does so good at his job, and it is a good job...and he got his bro a job and his bro tries to do a good job for JR. It is nice to see them so close. Greg takes care of the kids when he is home...He is a talker...He talks to them and does not yell or hit.
And since I have told on everyone else I will say I had a piece of carrot cake with my coffee for breakfast this morning. The recipe says it is 520 cal a slice..

Oh, carrot cake with your coffee. That is heaven.
I am glad Hannah and Robert are doing well. I keep thinking...it was been 8 years getting to where Robert is and 6 or 7 to where Hannah is so we can not expect them to rebound in a few months! Kids adapt and they will. My the Lord bless Fleta and George for what they are trying their best to do. That is all we can do...our best...give each thing in our life it's best shot. That is all we expect from Hannah and Robert...their best.
I just hope no one expects my best because I am just to old and worn out to do my best any more. Just to do is best for me!
Glad you made brother a cake. he said he did not need one but anyone who can reach 69 needs a cake. Well, i AM SURE Kathy made him a cake!
