Betty asked Pat what she was thankful for...The title of her post tonight was thistles...
Betty did not ask me what I was thankful for....I have LOADS...every night I thank God for 15 things I am grateful for..
First and foremost I am thankful His Son died on the cross for my sins so I can have everlasting life. I truly believe one day I will see Jesus, Dad, Mom , and Debby. And Richard...This faith gives me the spirit not to worry every day....Don't bust my bubble Patsy.
I am so thankful my kids and grand kids are all healthy. And that son in law of mine holds his family together.
I am so thankful for all of my siblings and Fleets boys that have given me a place to live...No questions asked.
I am thankful for Hannah and Robert living here...Safe...and so amusing. A joy every day.
I am thankful that Fleta puts up with me on her doorstep and even very thankful or George. He tries so hard.and
he has given those 2 little ones love they will never forget...all of their lives...They have no doubt about his love....ever. He helps me every day. With something.
I am thankful I do not worry like I used to and that with many things I am able to let go let God.
I am thankful for brother Clayton always being the same and would do anything for any of us.
I am thankful Barbs health is good enough she can enjoy life. and her kids are able to help her.
I am so thankful that Tony is responding so well to his cancer treatment and he has a good attitude. Not that I really think a good attitude will heal him but it makes it bearable for him to get through each day.
I am thankful Betty lives where she does by Laura and enjoys it. because it is home to her. And she has a girl to help her if she is ill.
I am so thankful I have pats great lap top and the Internet...AHHH it makes life good.
I am thankful tonight at 10 PM I was able just to walk down the red dirt road...In my night gown ...and not worry about 1 thing. The stars were beautiful tonight and the sky was full of them .Robert and I talked a lot about the stars Tonight. I am so thankful he can carry on a conversation and puts thought into what he is saying.
I am glad we are having a reunion soon and I will see cousins from the past and I am especially our dear Winnie Jo may be here. She lived such a different life than we all did....But I feel so close to her.
I am so thankful we all got to know her.
I am thankful Patsy helped Mom with all of us kids. Especially carrying Clayton around...cause in the later years Clayton helped with Mom.
The thankfulness I feel for Fleet taking on all of the family burdens can never be repaid.
Grateful I woke up on this side of the grass this morning and with no pain.
The Powell road is home to me and really always has been. There is no place that makes me feel more grateful than being right here on the home place.

(because you) have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field” (Genesis 3:17-18)
A lot of the time, we bring thistles into our life and we get stuck. But if you don't have a few thistles you surely would not enjoy the flowers as much. Without thistles, we would be thankful for less. Yea, we thankful for the little things. The bird's song, the cool breeze, or walking in your nightgown down a clay road. (Lord, I pray there was no moonlight to destroy the neighbor's view!)
Helen, what should I clean my new bathtub with....
Matthew 7:16 By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Helen, this might be saying..."know your neighbors" and you do!
I hae had thistles and I pray my thistle days are over!
Helen, I thought you were coming to clean my house today? I'm disappointed that you come clean my cobwebbed ceilings.
