I have not been doing much the past week. I did go to Vegas and saw my dear friend and that was very nice. We all had a good time. Rhea and Marvin put me up at the Golden Nugget and it does have the best pool in Vegas.
We went to a time share presentation. Rhea said that was 3 hours of her life she will never get back. LOL She did not enjoy it at all I thought the 45 minute bus ride was the worst, It was hot.,,,Then getting dropped off in a back alley was kind of BAD... Rhea said this is how women get picked up and sold into slavery. I was getting a little excited about that prospect but then Rhea told me that with my size and age I would not be sold for sex but as cleaning lady. That made me walk a little faster to get out of the alley.
Thank goodness we made it to where we were going without getting accosted. And that did allow Rhea to get us 20 dollar Elvis tickets and my kids free magic show tickets.
BTW Elvis was great!
At the magic show Austin got called upon the stage and then got to sit in the VIP seats...He loved the attention.
I took Austin clothes shopping and picked up a few things for Benjamin also. I hope Austin's Mama was pleased with the clothes Austin picked. He liked them all and I think most of them were school appropriate. Austin is a bit of a clothes horse. Which is surprising to me.
Rhea asked me about the Zimmerman mess. I think the whole thing is sad. I truly believe Zimmerman chased the boy down and killed him. Mainly because he was on a power trip to keep 'people like that ' out of his neighbor hood. Problem was that kid was staying there, had every right to be there and Zimmerman could have easily stayed in his car as he was told to do by police. But he was afraid 'another one was going to get away' and his community would be robbed again...so he took his gun out and went hunting for justice.. It is sad. The whole thing is sad. Then to make it worse some people like
"Ann Coulter had a gleeful one-word reaction to the total acquittal of George Zimmerman in the killing of Trayvon Martin..Hallelujah!"
Geraldo Rivera said...
'I see those six ladies in the jury putting themselves on that rainy night, in that housing complex that has just been burglarized by three or four different groups of black youngsters from the adjacent community. So it’s a dark night, a 6-foot-2-inch, hoodie-wearing stranger is in the immediate housing complex. How would the ladies of that jury have reacted? I submit that if they were armed, they would have shot and killed Trayvon Martin a lot sooner than George Zimmerman did. This self defence.'
Personally, I think the 6 women also should have stayed in their car and all tragedy could have been prevented.
I certainly am not shouting Hallelujah!
Patsy Blogged today about Helen Thomas dying. When I saw she had passed I did think of Patsy. I know most Presidents did not like her but most respected her for sure.
Ann Coulter also referred to Thomas as "that old Arab"..and she did this more than once. Helen Thomas once said sure she was a Liberal. When you see kids starving because they are so poor how could you be anything else. I doubt Ann could understand that statement and did not care.
Helen also said about George W. Bush...'I'm covering the worst president in American history. This is the worst President ever. He is the worst President in all of American history.'
I thought this comment she made was one of her funniest...'The day Dick Cheney is going to run for president, I'll kill myself. All we need is another liar... I think he'd like to run, but it would be a sad day for the country if he does.'
But this one was good and probably held the most truth...
'It should be mandatory that every president would read the Constitution. Too many swear to uphold the Constitution and then make end runs around it.'
She was very old there on the end of her career. Probably too old to be sitting where she was. We all know all too well about how the mind is not as sharp as we age. I do think she was very clear on what her job was and that was to get the truth from the White House and report it to the people...Trying to make the White House accountable to someone. I think she did that well and will be missed.
Oh yes I almost forgot...I spoke to Little brother yesterday and we both just had the best laughs.... It was just like talking to one of the nephews......Gilbert heard from Tony and called me... I had told Tony to get Kelly to buy a horse I could ride and keep for him....I guess Tony thinking I am off my rocker called the whole country side. So Gilbert called me. He told me he had a 'crazy"...and I stopped him right there and said , "Gilbert, when you say crazy I know this is not a horse I want!" He went on to say he has sent her to a trainer because she will not neck rein and this guy is going to train her...I do not know if Brother has not heard of putting a good strong bit in their mouth and pulling on that rein...Guaranteed that horse will neck reign soon...
Then he said she was so crazy he could hardly find anyone to shoe her....I can not figure out why when you have a CRAZY horse you would want her shod...I always heard Daddy say...Run her up and down that gravel road long enough and she will be tip toeing when you climb on her...I think that might take some of that CRAZY out of her...
Then he told me the BEST one ...He had a GREAT horse he had just bought...Boy this thing will just pick um up and put um down... I am guessing she is a saddle horse but I am not sure. He just loves her. She is 18 years old!
At that point I told him I have now figured out why I could never teach him how to milk a cow. All of these years I have been beating myself up because I failed to teach him to milk a cow....But anyone who buys an 18 year old horse and is proud of it has to be crazy! I will no longer take responsibility for it being my fault Gilbert never learned to milk a cow!

I really don't like horses any more.
Most everyone is horse crazy and then you see them left in the field ignored. After they are ignored and left for a couple of years they are worth 0.
Gilbert was smarter than you would think...not milking the cow!
