Today..

For the first time in weeks I got up and read the news. It is pretty depressing, just like it always was but I do hate to stick my head in the sand..
First I saw the war in Iraq still rages on. For some reason I thought we were out of there...I think you call that ignorant bliss..

In NC the hurricane Earl is on its way, they say. Some people have left but many have battened down the hatches, so to speak. This is supposed to be the most powerful hurricane in years. We will see.

BP is going to try to plug the oil leak for good. How long have they been doing this now?

In BATON ROUGE, La. The FBI says the bank robber dubbed the "Granddad bandit," was caught Wednesday afternoon. He was wanted in 13 states including Tennessee. He married a school teacher about a year ago. She said he traveled a lot and she thought he worked for Femi. You can't fix stupid...

Oh yes and the Sheriff in pima county here in AZ said the Drug Cartel has taken over our Boarders and he does not know what to do....He has not asked Sheriff Joe because he does not like him because he is too assertive!

Also the bank robber in CA who robbed a chase Bank last month from his wheel chair and got caught said he did this because he was riddled with many terminal diseases and could not afford medical care. But from what I read CA has the worst record of medical care for their inmates...It's a shame he did not have a power wheel chair and could make it to Canada to rob a bank. He might get better care.

Patsy's Motorcyclists that filmed the dirty cop still is waiting trial...This still makes me mad..

Michael Douglas has stage 4 throat cancer. His wife is upset they did not find it sooner since he apparently has had frequent medical care for his sore throat...It is said to be a tumor the size of a golf ball. Sad thing no matter who you are.

I have to get Benjamin off to school each morning and sometimes it is a bit if a challenge. This morning on MSN they had some tricks...Lay out your clothes the night before, have the lunches packed, no playing any videos till completely ready for school, and get up early to give yourself plenty of time. I have been up since 1:45....Then there was a part 2. I would call it sort of the Erma Bombeck version of getting them off to school... Give them a bath the night before and let them sleep in their school clothes, Use fabreeze if needed, comb hair with fingers to save time. and here was the best...Put pancakes on a Styrofoam plate, add syrup and butter, secure pancake with a tooth pick through the pancake and plate so it goes not slip off the plate and let the kid eat it in the car on the way to school....The last tip was actually passed down from her father...Sounds like a man thing to me...

Another long day for me. I am back to the car place to get my head light replaced one more time...
