School Shopping....
Yesterday, Melissa and I went school shopping for back to school clothes for Kristina's two kids...We were just hitting things that were on sale for this weekend and might be gone by the time they get here in a week.
So we went to Children's place which is a good place to get clothes for the younger kids like Austin but it is hard to find things for Mackenzie and Michael. Missy started picking out clothes for Amanda and don't get me wrong I was planning on getting a few new things for Amanda but I was looking for things for the older ones...
Well, pretty soon Missy had a pile of things all for Amanda and I told her that Amanda did not need that much. Missy said Kris had told her Amanda did not have hardly any clothes and I knew this was not correct. You see, Amanda is only 4 but she is the size Mackenzie was at 5 and at 5 Mackenzie went to Kindergarten and I remember we went school shopping then. Kris had kept all of Mackenzie's clothes so I knew there must be a bunch that Amanda could wear right now...
When I talked to Kris last night she said she had a lot of size 4's and a lot of size 7's and she thought we did not buy Mackenzie any 5's and 6's..I told her that was not correct because when Mackenzie went to Kindergarten she wore size 5 and I started naming off at least a dozen specific things I remembered we bought for her. One of them is the little skirt at the top of the post.
Well Kris could remember them too after I described them and she decided that she must have a tote of clothes in the garage she had not found yet. Kris went out this morning and found a big tote of Kenzie's clothes that fit Amanda now...5's and 6's....Amanda is so happy but Mackenzie hated to see her old clothes go to Amanda...
You see, Mackenzie was always so careful with her clothes. I would wash a lot of Mackenzie's clothes for her and she often told me that this blouse or that dress had a small pencil mark on it and be sure and pre treat it...Amanda marks on her clothes with Sharpie markers....often...and then tells her Mom she needs to be sure and throw that blouse away because it is ruined..
When Kris pulled a white lace blouse out of the tote, and it was one of Mackenzie's favorites, it was more than Mackenzie could bear. Just thinking how it would look after Amanda wore it one time made her tear up and she had to retreat to her room.....But Amanda's happy....She is probably thinking, 'a white canvas to draw on.....'

Hey, my blog roll is updating now even if I do not post. I am glad. It was so nice to just look and see if anyone had posted instead of having to load each blog.
I taking my girls to shop on Thursday. Astrid does not like to shop because her Mom makes her buy what is on sale. When I take them they have a money limit but can buy what they want. Astrid is excited. Ingrid loves to shop so she is too. We will get a few things for Siggie, but she has all the girls stuff and it is a lot.
Can't wait to see what you got for your kids.
Did you have a quake?
