For the past two weeks if anyone calls my house and says they are coming over the first words out of my mouth are, "Be sure to come in through the garage, I'll have the garage door open..."
As you can see by the trash on the door the solicitors do not call first..
When I got back from vacation Missy and Benjamin discovered a bird nest in my front door wreath...It is just an ugly brown bird's nest that had three light blue eggs in it...My plan was to get rid of the nest and the three eggs ASAP when the Grand Boy would not be aware I had done this..Benjamin came to my house Monday and Tuesday and there was great talk about the bird nest....Then Wednesday Austin came over and I showed him the nest and the three eggs but low and behold one egg had all ready hatched... So after that I have been sort of stuck with the birds...
I do not want the Mama to abandon the nest and end up with dead birds, which I thought had happened this weekend, so I have been ushering every one away from the front door...
Today I watched and when the small, brown, ugly, mama left I slipped up there and retrieved the junk mail off the porch and snapped a shot of the baby bird..
After looking at the shot on the computer, I also see a large amount of bird poop...Another reason to dislike the birds on my front porch...
I think it takes about two weeks for the birds to leave a nest and as soon as they are gone that nest will be gone and the wreath will be washed down every couple of days...Assuring no other bird will have time to make another nest there...
