Fleta is at work and I guess all of the kids went to school. The bus ran anyway.
I have cleaned up this morning and I need to go to Jr's....I have 2 loads of wash....that is because I have bedding plus i changed the sheet I keep over on my makeshift coffee holding table. I am fixing chili for supper. I make mine a little hot so I doubt if Fleta would like it. Yesterday I cooked chicken and noodles. But I made just a small pot. I knew Fleta was making chili so I did not share with her.
Yesterday it was cold. It feels colder today. It is 29 outside. It is 66 in here. I am plenty warm but I did turn on the heater in the kitchen door way this morning. I also left the water running a little last night in the kitchen sink....Just in case. I sure do not want Fleta's pipes to freeze. I think it is to be even colder Wednesday.
I would have liked to have gone back to church last night but it was just to cold! I did not even stick my nose outside.
I think JR just drove by but with every ones new rigs it is hard to tell for sure. Plus I only have 1 window that I can see out of. The plastic I have over the other ones makes it hard to see. Must be what it is like when you have glaucoma. Glad I do not have that.
No news here at all. Same ole, same ole.....
Betty, hope it is warmer at your house1

Happy Birthday, Sis... it's COLD....
as a well diggers butt! Outside anyway....I am warm in my house.
I left for church this morning at 9:15... When I stepped outside I saw it was blowing snow...I went back inside to hitch a ride with Fleta but she had all ready left. So I got ole red out and started down the road. I got to Dan's and backed up and turned around to come back home. I called JR and he said this snow was not going to amount to anything and I would make it just fine. So I turned back around and headed on. When I was at the top of the Meek hill I turned around again....Then I decided to go on to Coin...It is only about 3 miles. I decided if I got over there and it got bad George would drive my rig home and I could ride with Fleta. But all was well....No snow accumulation and no problems...Blessed Me.... I may even go back tonight.
Fleta is 67 today....She is the oldest one of us left. She's not that much older than I. When I am trying to recall something she is not much help...Not like asking Patsy or Richard something. They remembered before I was even born. Richard really did remember and Patsy was not to be outdone, so if she did not remember she made something up. Even that made me feel better. Clayton was not a lot of help in the remembering department. He was very quick to state, "I don't know." He may just as well said...'I don't know and I don't care. ' He never spent a lot of time worrying about the past. He was not the story teller Richard was. That did not stop me from asking Clayton anyway. Sometimes after I asked Clayton a question I would hurriedly say..."and don't say, I don't know. Think about it." Now we just have Fleta to ask.You might say we're in piss-poor-shape.
It is so cold I do not think I will be walking today. I am not sure if Fleta will or not. I may just lay around on the couch with a book. I'll bet Winnie Jo is really cold up where she is at. Stay warm!

Fleta's new ride..update..
is really nice. She may not be able to walk this morning...she may have to drive. She really likes it. It is a beauty. All of the bells and whistles. As she said, it will be the last truck she ever owns. So glad she has one she really likes.
It is supposed to get cold and stay that way for awhile. My house is nice and warm.
I have not seen any birds come to my feeder yet. It may just be to close to the house.
Fleta made chicken enchiladas yesterday. She said they were really good. I tried to eat half of one. Don't believe her if she blogs about them. They were not very good.
The goats made their regular morning trek by the house. I have not seen the walker woman this morning, yet. I am sure she will be by soon...Cold or not.
Fleta took me to Branson in that new rig...It rides nice...really nice...
I went to a bookstore and bought 2 sets of Bible book tabs.. I may never learn the Old Testament books...But on the bright side I have the New Testament down pat....Thanks to Betty.
Fleta went to Bass pro and bought her a pair of waterproof walking boots. a birthday present from sister Betty.
I got a free meal at Arbys. Per Fleta. All in all it was just a nice day.

Betty...
It's hot inside tonight. I looked and It was 69 on your couch...31 outside. I had on one of the stoves in L/R all day. It was set on high. The one in the bathroom was on low. I turned the one in the L/R to low 2 hours ago. Thank you Betty and Erin for the stoves.
I did have on the electric stove this morning. I cooked a pot of Black eye peas. I put hog jowl and ham in them. I also made a pan of cornbread. I think both were as good as Clayton ever made. I shared with Fleta. Hope her bunch likes them.
I hauled off bottles and cans I picked up along the road. I also dug all of the tin cans out of my burn barrel and hauled them off. I put a bird feeder out with cracked corn. I hung it on the porch edge. I do not know if birds will eat from it this close to the house.
I took Hannah and Robert to Church last night. They have Bible study Wednesday evenings. The kids really enjoyed it. There were a bunch of kids there. Some I had not seen before.
I cleaned house today. I moped all of the floors and burned the trash. I also picked up limbs on the road and put them in by Burn box. It started to rain a little this afternoon. It did not stop the crazy walking lady on the Douglas road. I think it had stopped raining when she walked.
She is looking for a pair of wadding boots that are comfortable to walk in...Good luck, Fleta.
I have watched movies on my lap top today. guess I should try to go to sleep. I took my shower at 7 but I have not laid down yet.
It was a beautiful morning. I loved getting outside and doing a little work. I also played with the horse today. Tomorrow I clean the church. I even enjoy that. We really do have the nicest preacher. I think he is a really good man. And I just love his wife. She reminds me of Mamma.
Life is good today.

Last Day of 2014...
So tomorrow we began 2015.
I could write many things here tonight. I was just sitting here and thought I should post. I started several lines and then back spaced. Then started again....Back spaced all of that also. This really could be a pity pot post.... looking back on the past year...But things could always be worse...so I will say something Rhea King has told be dozens of times when I have called her with some 'woe is my life' story... "Helen, it could always be worse. You could be pregnant!"
Happy New Year! God Bless Us All!
