BLACK Friday...

Well, Missy started shopping last night standing in line at 8PM for Toys-R-Us to open at midnight. She enlisted all hands and the cook. I stayed home and baby sat. Even Mike took a chair his book and maybe a flash light and sat outside K-mart all night. After Bill helped Missy at Toys-R-Us he then took Kenzie and went to Wal Mart. Kimmy had to work last night but drove down after she got off at midnight. She was in time to help Bill pick up things at Walmart at 5 AM.
After Toys-R-Us, Missy beat it to Target to wait in line then over to relieve Mike at K-Mart before it opened at 6...Right now Missy and Kenzie are at Michaels picking up one last thing and Grandpa took Austin and Benjamin to McDonalds to eat and play....As you can see Bill and Kimmie sacked out...
Missy and Kenzie just made it home. Missy is going to her home after she eats something ...As you can see from my closet they all made a haul. Over half of the stuff is for Missy's Christmas Angels. She picked up ten Angels off the tree and she picked up each child a toy and PJ'S and a set of warm clothes...

Giving Thanks...

Today I have five of my Grand Kids here. They are loud, running, and cute as can be...As you can see Baby Seth is being the best....Benjamin and Austin are stressing over a computer game, Austin says, 'I'm going to own it!' I think that means he is going to win...Lexi is the little poser, tell her to grin and she is all smiles...The boys could care less about Granny or what she is doing....But of course Kenzie is all about Granny and the baby!

I am Blessed...

Thanks Giving...

We had a nice dinner...I made Betty's rolls and they were not that great...I think for 6 cups of flour it should take 2 packages of yeast...plus there was no egg in this recipe and I guess I really like an egg in my rolls. They each weighed at least 12 oz. each...It did make exactly 18 rolls. But if the truth be told I have made worse at times.. I cooked and cleaned up all of the mess... Bill made the pumpkin pies last night and they were some of the best I have ever eaten. The crust was great...I have posted my crust recipe before but if you have not tried this you need to. I have been making this for years...
5 C. Flour
2 1/2 C. Lard or shortening
1 tsp salt
Blend together with pastry cutter
add
1 T. vinegar
1 egg
1C. hot water...
This makes 5 deep dish crusts.
It works every time, even for Bill...

Old Green Chair...

I bought this chair when Kenzie was a baby and just getting big enough to sit at the table and eat with us. I painted it and distressed it but I have noticed in 10 years it has became even more distressed. About two years ago Austin and Benjamin fought over who got to sit in it for Thanks Giving dinner. Austin informed Benjamin it was his chair long before Benjamin came along. This year I guess Lexi will sit in it.

I still remember Mackenzie sitting in this chair and eating scrambled eggs. She was probably only about a year old. I loved for her to eat eggs and she did not care for them and preferred pancakes or something sweet. But I would tell her I could see the eggs in her stomach. She would sit in the chair with her dress or shirt pulled up to her chin. She would take a bite of eggs, when I would see her swallow I would exclaim, "There they go, right there!" While I pointed to some part of her stomach. Eggs were the only food I could see in her stomach. We ate them often.

This is the second set of pictures I took of the Green Chair today. When I went to blog the first ones there was dust all over the rings of my kitchen chairs and I knew Erin would notice so I dusted them.

Since Mackenzie was not prepared for her home work last night I went over with her what her job was which is to do good in school and Granny's job is everything else. We were at school early this morning and I was sitting in the car talking to her. I said well my job today is to do all of the floors, the laundry, ironing, make chicken and noodles, and what is your job Kenzie? She said to do good in school and get home with all of my homework. Thank goodness I have completed all of my job today because I am about wore out. If it was not all done I am sure Mackenzie would have noticed. She would not have said anything but she would have noticed.

BTW while I was ironing all of Kenzie's t shirts and Jeans this morning I thought, I'll bet my Sisters know how important it is to have a good Rowena iron when it is time to press things...Then I laughed to myself!

Pictures...

These are some more pictures of the Girl's trip to San Diego.

She is off to school all ready, having a great day I hope.

This is a ship they saw on the ocean, one of her school mates tuckered out, and Kenzie and friends in a sharks mouth at Sea World.

We went to tumbling last night. She loves going and as I said before it is one hour of good exercise for her.. She came home with a ton of home work last night. One was a math paper and she did not have her math book. She had copied down all of the problems on a piece of paper. I hope she copied them right. Then she had a History sheet and no History book. We were able to look up everything on the net.

You know Granny has no patience for not getting here with the proper stuff, so Kenzie was informed if this happens one more time she will have to bring ALL of her books home every night. She said they would not all fit in her back pack and I informed her then she would have to carry them in her arms....

Then Missy came over and was looking at Kenzie's math and asked her where her math book was. Kenzie fessed up again. I asked Missy what should happen she said, "Kenzie will have to start bringing all of her books home every night." This got the same back pack response from Kenzie as she gave to me. Without skipping a beat Missy said, "Then you will have to carry them!" I think Kenzie understood I had been down this road before...

I am making chicken and a few noodles this morning. I have that left over chicken Grandpa and I bought Sunday. They work out well to make noodles with.

Someone has got to make it to the Honey Baked Ham store today. I need to call Gramps and see if he is going or he wants me to go. The Girl wants ham instead of turkey....Fine with me, ham is easy...We have all of the other fixings and we will make the pies tomorrow night..I will have to look up that recipe of Fleta's again since all of those Tyson people thought it was sooo good!

Well as I am sure you know Sanford of SC has his tail in a sling. Thirty seven counts of misconduct and they are going to try to impeach him...Oh well, he has a 'sole mate' I am sure he will be fine..

Ole Palin is having a little trouble selling her book. There seems to be another book out with a similar name and some people are buying the wrong book.....You know it looks like she would have known that with all of the reading she has always done...

Ironing, dirty floors and noodles await me. I had better get started on my day...
