I bought this chair when Kenzie was a baby and just getting big enough to sit at the table and eat with us. I painted it and distressed it but I have noticed in 10 years it has became even more distressed. About two years ago Austin and Benjamin fought over who got to sit in it for Thanks Giving dinner. Austin informed Benjamin it was his chair long before Benjamin came along. This year I guess Lexi will sit in it.
I still remember Mackenzie sitting in this chair and eating scrambled eggs. She was probably only about a year old. I loved for her to eat eggs and she did not care for them and preferred pancakes or something sweet. But I would tell her I could see the eggs in her stomach. She would sit in the chair with her dress or shirt pulled up to her chin. She would take a bite of eggs, when I would see her swallow I would exclaim, "There they go, right there!" While I pointed to some part of her stomach. Eggs were the only food I could see in her stomach. We ate them often.
This is the second set of pictures I took of the Green Chair today. When I went to blog the first ones there was dust all over the rings of my kitchen chairs and I knew Erin would notice so I dusted them.
Since Mackenzie was not prepared for her home work last night I went over with her what her job was which is to do good in school and Granny's job is everything else. We were at school early this morning and I was sitting in the car talking to her. I said well my job today is to do all of the floors, the laundry, ironing, make chicken and noodles, and what is your job Kenzie? She said to do good in school and get home with all of my homework. Thank goodness I have completed all of my job today because I am about wore out. If it was not all done I am sure Mackenzie would have noticed. She would not have said anything but she would have noticed.
BTW while I was ironing all of Kenzie's t shirts and Jeans this morning I thought, I'll bet my Sisters know how important it is to have a good Rowena iron when it is time to press things...Then I laughed to myself!
