They're Here....

 

 

 

The kids got here just fine last night....This morning we tried on several new clothes and all of Michael's fit....about half of Kenzie's need to be returned and a few of Kaylan's....

Then we took off to the Beach....everyone except Jake loves it...so we stayed for an hour plus and Baby Jake and I came home....He needs a nap, usually 3 hours so this will work out great for me....I may do this each day....The rest of the bunch ,may stay till dark, who knows... We picked up Pizza for lunch and that went over great...

Amanda and Benjamin are just like 2 peas in a pod...I just love to watch them....Amanda just wanders aimously and Benjamin goes into everything with a direct purpose...

Michael is having the time of his life....He wants to just go and go...He has grown a lot just since last fall..

Of Course my Mackenzie is beautiful as always....

Close to on the plane

I spoke to Kris at 3 and they were just getting off the ferry...It is about an hour drive from there to the airport. They were going to stop for fast food for the kids. Darrel took off work early to get them there...She always has a little trouble getting Michael a boarding pass because 'Michael Smith' is on the FBI most wanted list...We decided last time we would sign him in as Seth Smith but by the time we bought the ticket we forgot.

They will be on the plane at 6:30...Kris is going to give them a big dose of medicine so maybe they will sleep at least some...I would have to be drugged to get on a plane with 4 children 10 and under...

I have just made a Texas sheet cake and the house is spotless. Benjamin and I laid down for 3 hours today...We did not sleep but we are well rested...

I am like Mackenzie, I am to excited to sleep...Bringing them here was a great idea by Melissa.... As Mackenzie said 'Melissa is BRILLIANT!' Those Grand Babies will be here soon....Tomorrow we have a full day planned...

It is easy when you are sick to get bogged down and feel blue.....and when you are that way you just need to get over it... Some days I think, 'Oh I don't feel so good today.' Then I think back to a year ago and I realize I do feel pretty good...Like Fleta said, it's all in your perspective....

A lady at the pool today was a little older than me and she was covered from head to toe in clothes. She had taken her 6 year old grand Girl to the pool and the lady climbed in the water with even a light weight jacket on....The woman said she has skin cancer and had to keep completely covered up from the sun....she said she felt foolish getting in the pool fully clothed then she said, 'But I don't know what the alternative is.' I told her I did...and it was not pretty...we let it go at that...

Well it is hot as can be but I am going to get ready and go to the park and watch Austin practice football... I'm taking a blanket to sit on and it will take a crane to get me up....

Doing the last little things....

Tomorrow night those Grand kids will be here...Their plane gets in at 9:30 PM...They will be tired...I am doing last minute things. I washed the Vette this Morning with Benjamin's help. I have to change the sheets on their bed because Kimmie stayed here last night and I want fresh sheets on the bed. My bedding will be stripped and washed today. Tomorrow morning I will steam the floor one more time. Then we will be ready....

Right now I am washing the towels I used to clean the car and draining the Jacuzzi one more time to have completely fresh water in case they want to play in it some. I imagine I will drain it a few times while they are here. My yard needs the water anyway... Benjamin is watching Curious George on channel 8.

Benjamin and I am going to the Library today and to the beach...We have to stop by his house to get his swim stuff.

Austin has football practice tonight and I hope to go watch him. I need to call his Mom to make sure he will be there. He practices right here in my neighborhood.....Nice for me but a long drive for his Mom...

Tomorrow I might make a Texas sheet cake. Kenzie loves them and I imagine Michael does also. Not Austin, He does not like chocolate except chocolate milk...

Austin is hoping to get to come and spend some time with his cousins but his Mom said he will have to be very good to get to come over...

Hotel In Gilbert

For the last year they have been building a hotel in Gilbert....The only hotel that is in Gilbert...It is located on Power Road and Warner Road....This is about 3 miles due east of my home.

When I go to pick up Austin we always travel Warner Road and go past this Hotel. I have been telling Austin when they first started building it I thought he and I ought to just move in there together. He always laughs and thinks it is a big joke. We talk about never having to clean up any mess, never make a bed,eat take out pizza every night, and swim in the pool....

Last week when we went by the hotel it was open. Austin said he was ready for just the two of us to move in there....He and I are tired of cleaning...Apparently he had to clean up his room last week to get ready for back to school and Granny had been cleaning all week to get ready for company...We are ready for someone to clean up after us...
