Thinking back…

I have been trying to remember the earliest recollection of what I can remember ..

I remember being small and riding in a car with daddy and I was standing in the seat behind his right arm. I guess they would be like a seat belt today. But I have no idea how old I was.

I do not remember Richard or Patsy living at home. I remember Richard coming over often with some of uncle Truman’s boys but still can not pinpoint an age.

I do remember Pat first being married and I went with her to a ladies house that she worked with and the lady gave her a bunch of clothes for me.

I do remember Pat taking me and I think Fleta and Betty to a movie. It was the first movie I had ever been to and it was Daniel Boone. I looked it up today and that movie was released October 1956. that would make me about 2 years and 2 months if it had just been released. Of course it might have been out for several weeks or even months. I do remember I was small and I remember Patsy carrying me into the theater. It was dark and we got popcorn.

I remember Debby sleeping in a crib but I imagine she slept in one for quiet awhile.

I remember Richard driving a black and white car and he took me to town and he got me an icecream cone. I was sitting in the back seat behind him and I dropped it on the floor of the car. He opened his car door while the car was still moving and I had to throw it out the car door.

There are many things I remember when I was about 5. Probably a lot of people remember things at that age.

Sometimes it’s hard to remember what I did yesterday. …. And seems to be getting harder.
