it warmed up yesterday and I got to use George’s tractor to do a little work.
I went up on the hill and replaced batteries in the deer feeder. There were 6 deer up there that took off running when they heard the tractor. This morning when I stepped outside the door to call Boo Boo to come back inside I saw the same 6 run across Dans pasture to get back up on the hill.
I loaded a bunch of wood items and threw them on the big burn pile that sets between the house and what used to be the new barn. Jr piled up a bunch of trees, wire, and mess. A lot of it has burned but most of it now needs to be scooped up with the tractor bucket and hauled off. First of all I would not know where to haul it. Second of all I’m not that good with the tractor bucket.
After that I loaded a full bucket load of metal and glass that need to me taken to the dump. I even doug through my burn barrel and picked out a bunch of cans. I was able to get them to the dump and back up the hill with very little trouble. Which is amazing considering it is so wet and the 4 wheel drive on the tractor is not working just now. But that’s fine. It feels good to get it all out of the way.
I figured I had ruined the jacket I had on when I dug through the burn barrel but after 2 washings it came out better than I thought.
I bought a used tv stand… for cheap.. and Robert helped me carry it in yesterday. I cooked him a steak dinner to repay him. I hope he liked it. He is always so good to come and help when I call
