COLDER

last night the temperature was in the high 20's. It was colder than it had been but the house stayed nice and warm.

Fleta hosted that back sale yesterday at work. They made good money but I am sure Fleta would have rather worked.  Socializing and serving is not one of her fondest things to do. We did not think I could have gone in and helped her but later we found out I in fact could have gone in and helped.  It is sort of my thing to do things like that. I do not really love it but I am pretty good at it. Just to blow my own horn. Nobody else will. LOL

I have mainly sat around today and watched the birds....and loved it. They mainly feed heavy in the morning. Tonight I think I need to refill the feeders. My 2 squirrel feeders are almost empty and yet I never see squirrels eating in them. I saw 2 today along the fence row by the feeder. They were scampering away.

JR has been gone all week again. I spoke to him last night. He will be coming home this afternoon and then leaving right back out for some promotional thing. His boss has a nice plane to fly them all over the place. I am not sure where he is going although he told me. My mind was just like a sieve.

I made brown Spanish rice today. It stuck on the bottom of my iron skillet so I dumped it into a pan and finished cooking it. T may have to reseason my pan because it stuck pretty good. I guess I need to tend to that.

I have been running the propane stove more in the last 2 days. It sure gets the house warm fast. I left it on last night and the house did not burn down. Betty said, 'good.' I imagine Fleta will be glad also.

Since it is Friday Fleta takes off work at noon. She has not gone by that I have seen but I might have missed her. I imagine she went to Harrison for groceries. She does not always consult with me before she takes off. I am not sure why that is. I think I am in the 'need to know' category.

Betty is going with her oldest grand girl today to pick out a dress for Homecoming or something similar. I told betty I was sure Astrid has more fashion sense that Betty. Laura was busy and could not go. I guess Betty went along for moral support. I can not imagine why else she needed to go. And along that note Hannah wants to be in the beauty review again this year. Fleta will get her a dress. I will go along for moral support. LOL

I think it has been a week and my plants are still alive. Last night I went to the big living room window and was going to shut the blinds to keep the plants warmer. As I went to pull them down I really pulled them down. They fell on the floor and they are still laying there. I guess I will get the step stool out and see if I can get them handing back up. Not that I am lazy but I wish Gilbert was here to do it. LOL

Those Blue jays sure do rule the bird feeders. That just came to my mind just now.
