For this reunion I flew in from AZ and stayed with Pat...It was me answering the phone...And yes it was funny and we all did have a great time...Clayton and Gilbert maned the grills and I remember looking at Clayton and for the first time realized he was old...THEN He was 1 year older than I am now.. A good time was had by all.... and if we want to have another reunion at the old home place I can do it....JR will pay...Gilbert and Greg to man the grills....We will get Willis over to set up everything...and we will get Julie to clean up...she has to have some of her Mama in her...I will pull the wooden rocker into the yard for me to sit in....everyone else...bring your own..

Powell Family reunion.
The reunion is Saturday and you remember I told you I shampoo my rug. It a good thing I did because I have spent 2 days laughing and rolling around on the floor. The phone will ring and sister answers and I'll say who is it? And sister will say it's Clayton and I say what's he saying? And she will tell me and I'm down again laughing rolling around on the floor.
Then when she hands up the phone rings again, sister answers and start talking and I say, who is it? Sister says It Richard. I say what he say? What he say? She tell me and I'm laughing again.
fleta called today and was telling sister how many chairs she had lined up and sister says, I thought we would just throw some quilts down in the yard and set on them. Fleta said our days of setting on quilts in the yard is over, we need chairs.
Clayton calls and is going over the food list and sister tells him she is making cakes. Clayton says , let me write that down. Then she says I bought 100 plastic plates and plastic silver ware, do you think they make plastic silver ware? Clayton said let me write that down. I said tell Clayton I am making "tater salad", Clayton says what the hell is that? Sister says oh, you know potato salad. claytons let me write that down.
When she hangs up she says I don't remember Clayton having to write everything down before this.
my daughter came home from work and said one of clayton's co workers told her, Clayton said, do you think if I cut up 5 heads of cabbage to make cold slaw that will be enough? The woman said how many people are coming? Clayton said oh, 80 to 100. The lady said that wont be near enough, you will need at least 15 heads of cabbage. Clayton said well they can eat light. The lady said are these people like you? Brother said, yes. She said they wont be eating light!
Clayton called again, said he took Friday off from work 'couse he had to cut up 20 heads of cabbage for cold slaw. Sister said I will come down and help you, Clayton said let me write that down.
