Eva Belle Meek, a resident of East Monett, Missouri, was born on June 1, 1920 in Green Forest, Arkansas, a daughter of Riley E. and Bessie (Molder) Norris. She departed this life Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Monett, Missouri at the age of 94 years.
Eva worked at the Green Forest School as a cook for many years and at Cars Drygoods. She attended the United Baptist Church of Green Forest. She was a member of the Brawley Quilting Club.
She is survived by daughter, Yvonne King of Peck, KS; daughter, Nina & husband Dale Harrell of Rocky Comfort, MO; son, Larry & wife Rose Meek of Green Forest, AR; daughter, Jeannie Barnes of Raton, NM; ten grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
In 1937 Eva was united in marriage with Cecil Meek who preceded her in death. She is also preceded by her parents, Riley & Bessie Norris, brothers; Olen Norris, Arlis Norris; one sister, Nila Rudd; one son-in-law, Doyle King.
Visitation will be 8:30 AM until service time. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel with Bro. Billy Williams officiating. I think you should attend this visitation. I stayed overnight with Jeanne, we slept upstairs. Worse thing was ....she peed the bed.
