BTW just a thought when I was in school in the early 70's we called Thursday Queer day...Meaning Gay....I wonder why....Maybe it was something Archy Bunker started...
I have been busy today going places with Darrel but so enjoyed seeing Pat's post..
First of all I loved Archie Bunker. So did Daddy. We always watched it. Most of you don't remember because you were gone and out of the house....Remember I was the privileged child that had a TV most of her growing up years... Daddy liked Archie because he played a very DUMB Republican. The things that came out of his mouth were just so biased....Like some Republicans today. Oh Daddy would laugh at that show and never missed it.
After I was grown I came to respect Carrol O'Connor very much. Any parent that publicly calls out the dealer that sold his son drugs and called him a drug dealer by name and begged parents to keep their kids away from this man because he was a drug dealer and sold drugs to his son and his son died... THEN the drug dealer sued O'Connor....O'Connor went back to the media yelling even louder, anyone can sue but to win is another thing. And since he was telling the truth the drug dealer had no grounds that would hold up in court.... Sure enough O'Connor had a trial. He was found Innocent. He walked out of the court room to a sea of reporters and stood there and called the man by name again and said he was a drug dealer, keep your kids away from him. Carrol O'Connor was a STRONG Democrat.
Then Pat posted 3 times...yes 3 times....I guess because she wanted us to be sure and see that Republican Miss Lee thinks our Constitution is 400 years old...Yes Pat I watched all 3 video's thinking they might be a continuation of each other...but no it was exactly the same....But I agree... Something like that bares repeating 3 times at least! And they called her a Democrat.....No she was a Republican like Archie Bunker!
Yesterday I promised a story about Dan Quayle... I got on line to get the facts straight but then I got caught up reading Quayle bloopers and never did get the facts...But it was close to this..
Sometime in the late 80's the president of another country died. It may have been El Salvidor...It may have been Ecuador...But my son in law was in the service. He worked on planes and had very high clearance.
So when the President of this foreign country died and Bush did not want to go to that hole in the wall to pay his respects he sent our Dan Quayle...Darrel was one of the guards on the plane that took him over there...
So the big jet landed in Washington DC with Darrel on it. Quayle and several Secret Service men boarded the plane. Darrel was just inside the door right by the loading steps. Darrel was supposed to greet each person and tell them they could sit in any seat they wanted. Several Secret Service men got on, all were packing guns. Darrel was armed with an assault rifle and a holstered Glocke on his side.... Quayle entered the plane and right behind Quayle a little ole grey haired granny type lady boarded. This lady was carrying a little Bath and Body tote bag. Darrel said , "Just take any seat, Mam."
But the little lady had a problem. She stood about 5' nothing and had a hunched back. Darrel suspected she must have been Quayle's Secretary or someone like that...But I am not so sure... She walked over to Darrel and quietly whispered, "Where do I put my bag?" Darrel said it had pink ribbon handles. He told her, "Mam, you can just keep it in the seat beside you." She had her hand up beside her mouth so no one else could hear. She whispered, "No you do not understand. It has a gun in it." Darrel leaned over to her and nicely said,"Mam, that's okay. Almost everyone on this plane is carrying."...Then the lady took her right hand and pointed her pointer finger out, the rest of her fingers were in a fist, and the thumb was sticking up (Like a little kid makes a pretend gun with his hand.)...Then she clicked her thumb up and down while quietly whispering to Darrel, " No you don't understand. It has bullets!" Darrel assured her it would be fine and then she took a seat.
