January...

Fleta told me once to get a good picture you need sunlight and shadows. I think she is right. This morning I thought I had perfect picture conditions... I had sun and shadows..There were shadows over the sun but  The picture was not that great.

It is almost 9 in the morning and many days have looked like this all day long. The weather is odd to me. It is about 35 right now and I can walk around outside with long sleeves on and not be that cold. Sometimes 35 feels real cold here. Something to do with the ocean right on us I am sure.

It rained all day yesterday. But rain here is just drizzling all day. I can scurry from my room to the kids back door and not get wet. As I said the weather here is odd.

Darrel has been off since before Christmas and he has been working on his garage. He now has it sheet rocked and shelves up and a sturdy bench. He is very proud of it and I am glad for him. As for me I lived with a man for almost 40 years that thought the garage was so important. He had it piled to the brim, always and for the last 20 years hardly went in it or turned a wrench at home. This is how Darrel's garage has always been too. We will now see if it is used as a work shop as he is wanting..

OMGoodness I see sun...Let me take a picture...

Well Fleta is right they do look better with sunlight and shadows.

Everything here has been busy with the garage work. But next week the kids will all be in school and they are ready. Darrel will be  back at work and Kris will be working as a sub a lot of the time and things will be very calm just the way I like it.

Today I am in the house cause Darrel has to go vote on the new contract. He is still voting no but he is afraid this one will pass. He keeps saying on day he may be living closer to me.  As much as I would love to see the kids more, I hope they never have to move. They have a nice place here. He makes a good living here working under the union.

Kris went with Darrel this morning that is why I am in the house. All of the kids are still asleep. There is no telling how late they were up. My opinion is like George's, "Let 'um sleep!"

Today the kids are to take down all of the outside Christmas lights. Since it is outside work I imagine I will help them. I do like outside and I have been cooped up for days. But once Darrel goes back to work and I get the house cleaned there is a BIG pile of scrap wood to burn.....recreational style! LOL

I hope it works out that he does not have to move. Moving is hard on the older ones especially. Maybe it will all work out.

It is so cold here. A little warmer tomorrow and then colder for days. I don't like the cold or the heat...but maybe the heat is a little better sounding. Well, when it is cold...heat sounds better...and when it is hot cold sounds better.

Fleta will be 66 tomorrow. In june I will be 64 and then in Aug..you will join us in the 60s.

Happy New Year to you.
