Rubarb dump cake...

I think it was good ole Winnie Jo that posted this on face book and I nabbed it. I have been wanting rhubarb for weeks. Ever since I found out they grew it here. I have never cooked anything with rhubarb but have had homemade rhubarb jelly and rhubarb strawberry pies..I love it!

Yesterday Kris subbed at a school. In the teachers lounge someone brought in Rhubarb. She brought me home some and I remembered this rhubarb dump cake.
4C rhubarb cut into 1/4 in pieces
put in the bottom of 9X13 greased cake pan
1C sugar sprinkled over the tip
1 pk strawberry jello(3 OZ) sprinkled over that
1 yellow cake mix dry sprinkled over that
1C water and 1?2 c butter melted...all over the top....
bake 350 till done...
It is so good. I had a piece last night and am having one now with my coffee.
Forget slimy oatmeal..

It sounds good. I used to make strawberry rhubarb cobbler. It is so good with a scoop of ice cream--hot from the oven!

Helen, I can't stand it if the Johnny cake is raw in the middle so I usually always almost burn them. I can tell Larry does not like them that well but I do as I think it 'takes me back home'. And yes I used an iron skillet I have about 4 of them and all are so well seasoned as I have used them 40 years!
