You just can't beat the day Fleta has had today. Greg got full custody of the kids. This is good!
I have been researching on the computer for 2 days. I was trying to figure out which sewing machine Kris should buy. I have decided for her. I am good at spending her money. I think she should get the Brother PC 420 PRW. Amazon has it for $399. But Walmart has it for the same price. So Walmart is where she should order it and that way just in case it is a lemon she can return it!
You would think it would be easier to decide. But there are so many name brands out there finding the most dependable one is not that simple. This one has so many stitches that she does not need but the ones that do so many less stitches are not as dependable machines. I looked and looked for a really good one that just did a few stitches, even looked at commercial ones, and I think this is the best machine. Her last one I paid 300. for on sale and it lasted 13 years. But the arm on the inside is worn and no it would not cost that much for an arm but to even take it in they charge 100 just to look at it and clean. I just think she would be better off with a newer one. If she had someone local that would check it out cheaper it might be worth it. Sewing Machine repair men are paid well apparently.
I have not done much today except searching. I have done 3 loads of laundry. Including changing all of my bedding. This morning I told Kris I had nothing to do today. She said I could do laundry. I did not tell her but laundry is a side line job. It is one you do while you are really doing something else. You know, you clean house and do laundry. You can work in the yard and do laundry. There's just not a lot of work involved in laundry using automatic washers and dryers.
I am hungry. I spoke to Pat and she made a meat loaf using half hamburger and half sausage. That sounded pretty good. I am going into the house and find something to eat. As they say, "I look like I really need something to eat." LOL
Later.
I went inside and decided to make chicken and noodles. So that means I have egg whites so we are having an Angel food cake also. I defrosted 3 chicken hind quarters and put them in the pressure cooker. They have 20 more minutes. I have the noodles made and they are drying, plus I have the egg whites getting to room temp. so I can make the cake. I got out 4 chicken patties to cook in the oven (the kids do not like dark meat chicken) and a can of green beans. I think I will walk out to the garden and cut some lettuce. I still have a hand full of white radishes. Kris has store bought green onions. The ones in the garden are not big enough for anything. and I am sure she has store bought tomatoes...Of course they are never any good but maybe the garden lettuce will make up for it. LOL
While I was inside I cleaned the kitchen and washed all of the dishes...Plus 2 loads of laundry. HA
We have strawberries for the cake. I love that. I guess we will have a nice celebration dinner for Fleta.
The laundry is all done.
I made a great salad of the lettice in the garden. and one onion and some radishes. But tomato, brocoli, califlower, and carrotts were all from the store. It is so pretty....Tomorrow I will get to cover up the potatoes some more...Not all of them but there are a few that are at least 6" tall...If the sun would shine they would probably all be tall enough by tomorrow. But it has rained all day and this is not AZ there is no hope for any sun today.
Stupid me I have hobbled around all day today without my boot and my foot hurts. I have done very little you would think it would have been fine.
I have caged the chickens up all day. When it is raining they want to stay on the porch.
We have some squirrels coming to eat now. Kris bought a thing that holds an ear of corn and I tacked it to the tree. Betty one gray squirrel has a very sparse tail. It is not bushy at all. Is it a different kind of gray squirrel or just sickly. Guess I could look on google.
The angel food cake is done and the chicken and noodles. The noodles are very good. I have to cut up some strawberry's for the cake...BTW I may have posted this before but add powder sugar to strawberries instead of plain sugar and they look and taste like they have been sitting in sugar all day, after just a few minutes. Rhea told me the secret.
The 2 older kids are home from school. I gotta go.

I will try the powdered sugar on strawberries. It is strawberry time here but the cold got some of them and they are expensive.
I think Fleta needs to mark May 30, 2013 on her calendar and name it celebration day.
