Mike had a concert last Thursday. He plays drums. I stayed home with the little ones because it did not end till 9....way past my bedtime and theirs.

Jake and Amanda last Wednesday ready for school. Amanda always loves to dress up with dresses but I had never seen Jake want to wear anything except his long sleeve slinky shirts that 'SOAK UP MY SWEAT' as he says....but this morning he asked is he could wear his 'Fancy Dancy' clothes....so he did.

Yesterday we went to a nursery and got plants...here is some of the lettuce..Radishes are in front...the ones under the bottles have not done much better...Clayton said it should help them grow all it needs is sunshine....Oh that is what they are missing..

these are cauliflower plants

The tomatoes...my favorite..

corn and beans....we are going to plant bean seeds by the corn later on...the package said the end of May..

Zucinni...one of the things that grow like weeds..

Yesterday we dug out all of the extra dirt..We hooked Darrel's dump trailer up to the lawnmower. It probably holds a little over 2 wheel barrels full...We hauled out 20 of those...It was a lot of work for me and Kris...

view from the street..we are now going to lay down grass stopper mat and the we need to add red wood chips...4 inches and then we are adding ground cover..and then we have a new fancy mailbox to set in cement up by where the end of the fence and street meet.

Kris has planted red hens and chickens in between all of the rocks..

Pat was right...the Magnolia tree has leaves now.

the ground cover we are going to plant

Here is where a lot of the dirt was dumped and leveled..

This plant is really growing on the north side of Kris house...I do not know what it is..

The 2 babies hang back when I let the hens out and just eat and eat...I don't think the big ones let them get to the food..These chicks ate laying really dark brown eggs..

Chickens on the loose...running to find worms in the yard..

Lordy, you have been so busy it makes me tired just looking at the pictures.
I have tomato and pepper plants to sent and bought zuchinni seeds. My yellow squash is up as are my beans. No okra up yet.
okra yummm I wonder if we could grow that
You can not grow okra in that climate..Okra is like cotton...it grows in same climates so if I were you would not try okra in that cool climate. Beets would do well there.
Green peas...cabbage...onions...potatoes...lettuce! Tomatoes too! Squash.
you did good planting lettuce plants clayton says you will get heads.
