Jake hugging his Daddy..Kris and her family went yesterday and had family photos done. There are several posted on her blog that you can see. She emailed me this one of Baby Jake hugging his Daddy. It is my favorite. Darrel and Kristina have done very well since moving to WA. They have a nice home sitting in Arlington on a whole fenced acer of land where those kids can run and play.
When Missy and I flew up there in June Kris was trying to find a teaching job this year. She has 5 kids because for almost 2 years now Darrel's niece (now 15) has lived with them. All of the kids are in school except baby Jake. The kids ALL go to a different school. Up there they divide K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 and as luck would have it Kris has one in all of the groups. So the kids all have to be carted to different schools.
So when Kris was talking about trying to get an kindergarten job making about 30K a year I was worried about all of those kids being in different places plus Jake now going to a day care. Jake is 3 and he is not near potty trained and he does not care. Neither does Grandma. Missy quickly pointed out I did not need to worry because there was not a day care anywhere that would take an almost 4 year old that was not potty trained at all. That made me feel better.
Then Kris decided she might take an AM kinder garden class and make 15K a year and how it would work out because Darrel could manage to be home each morning if he turned down OT, at 120 bucks an hour (that is what he makes after he had works over 8 hours of OT in a week) I tried to explain the NON benefits of her going to work and him loosing his good OT pay and having 4 kids in 4 different schools. As Luck (yeah right) would have it she did not find a job.
Good ole Aunt Jeannie, Darrel's Sister, bought a 42K fancy van to haul Duane around in Right before he passed away. I am not sure what kind it is but it is completely decked out, sun roof, DVD system, all leather, and all power, I can only imagine how nice it must be. It is a 2011 and has 3K miles on it. Well she is selling it to the kids for 30K and holding the note herself at no interest and they will make 7 years of monthly payments to her, God bless her heart. As it is right now they do not have a vehicle that they can not all go anywhere all together. They have to take 2 vehicles. This one will hold them all. Jeannie is having it shipped to them this week. She has always been good to all of her family. She flies all over the world for her job and has boo koo frequent flayer miles. I spoke to her just Tuesday and she offered to fly me anywhere in the world I wanted to go. I have known her for over 20 years.
I hope all of my Kids, Grand Kids,Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, nephews, and friends have a Happy Thanksgiving. I am Thankful for so many things.
