Differences....2nd post...

Benjamin came home from School Friday with 2 special assignments....the 1st wa,s he had a simple outline of a Turkey, about the size of my spread out hand, and he was to disguise it to look like something else so it would not be eaten on Thanksgiving....Then he is to take it back to school and they are displaying them on the board till Thanksgiving....When Missy read this she groaned and thought 'How Stupid!' wasting time on crafts.... As soon as I found out I went outside and snapped a half dozen pictures of Benjamin's dog, Bruiser, from different angles...Then came inside and printed them off in 8X10 sizes and smaller and Benjamin cut out the head on one, and the body on another, legs on another and so on...He then glued them on the turkey and disguised it to look like it had on a dog costume....

His 2nd assignment was, he brought home a blank, white 15X18 size of card stock paper with a half page of instructions. Basically, he is to make a time line beginning with his birth and list all important dates of 1sts through now. I thought this stunk for a Kinder garden project. Missy thought this was a great project. I thought it sounded more like something a 3rd grader should be doing....BUT you will notice the craft project is done and will be turned in today, a week early!, ....The time line will not be turned in till the last day, before it is due, I am sure... But it's a great project! Or so the smart person in the Family thinks....Benjamin really enjoyed cutting out parts of the dog pictures...I'll bet, before it's over, he thinks the time line project stinks too!

Tomorrow I have a Mugga Scan to get done at noon. I still have the heart monitor and will have for 30 days from when ever I got it. It is kind of a pain because I have to call and download it every day. Granted it only takes 10 minutes but it is still a pain. And if I am out and it is full it keeps chirping till I download it. It sounds like a cell phone and people look at me like 'Why don't you answer that stupid thing!"

Pat was going to a book sale today to get some books. I hope she finds a bunch! I have on order at the Library the last book Betty talked about the President's Secret Service. There was only 1 person ahead of me so I should have it soon.

Missy is reading Benjamin a series of books that are on about 5th or 6th grade level. It is about kids that have magic powers. He loves them. He sits still and listens to a chapter and begs her to read more. Yesterday he sat through 2 chapters. each of these books are about 200-300 pages I think. I can not believe he likes them, but he is really smart. At this age I read my kids Cat in the Hat...
