Unemployment...

MSN is stating they think the true National unemployment is about 16.6%. That is much higher than the Government is stating. That is partly caused by the number of people who have ran out of unemployment benefits and have given up looking for a job. It is hard to count those people.

Yet Obama is catching heck over wanting to extend unemployment benefits. There are several GOP leaders that have spoken out that the American public is taking advantage of unemployment. They have been stating they think the American public is not wanting to work and we just need to take a lower paying job and get off unemployment.

The maximum amount of unemployment dollars you can draw in the state of AZ is 240 a week. That is before taxes. You can not live off that here unless you live with someone or you are homeless. It will cost at least $400 a month to get even a studio apartment here. That would be for a dump but it is somewhere you can live. By the time you pay utilities and food you would not have any left for gasoline.

So they are saying we should just take any job, lower our standards and quit looking for a hand out. Well I do agree with part of that, 240 a week here is just a hand out. It certainly is not enough to live off of....It was stated today that Obama is like a kid with a credit card. It is said that he is just spending too much. I agree with that also.

As they say the first cut is always the deepest. I suggest he quit funding 2 wars. That would pay for unemployment for a long time!
