Very often I am reminded; no matter how bad I have it someone always has it worse.
Tonight I went over to Melissa’s. She was having a get together with Bill and some of his friends to celebrate the 4th. Bill cooked some great food and I love his friends. It did me good to get out of the house. I have been on a pity pot pretty much the last few days trying to figure out what to do instead of just being calm and let God speak to me.
Tonight when I got home I had a message from Jeanie Sanders. As I have said Duane is in really in bad shape... I called them back and Jeanie said Duane wanted to speak to me. We only spoke for a couple of minutes but he was doing pretty good today. He said the Lord had spoke to him today and he was with him. He said he never believed in that before but now he knew it was true. He said they may have to take one of his legs off. He seemed resolved to whatever was coming.
I spoke to Jeanie for quiet a while after speaking to him. She is understandably very upset. This has been a long 6 months ordeal for her as his primary caretaker. Jeanie has several people trying to get their son Larry back in the states. He is in Afghanistan right now I think. I think Duane has been holding on because he really wants to see Larry again.
Jeanie said they are praying for a miracle. It would be wonderful if Duane just had a big turn around and his health was restored but I believe he had his miracle today.
