Well Patsy, the Birthday is over now you are just a year older. Winnie asked where I fell in the line of Grandma Powell's Grand Kids and as Betty said it was way down the line....Debby Lee and Gilbert were younger than me. I think Skip is the same age as me and maybe one of Thelma's Boys? most of you all are just Soooo much older than me, Winnie.
The Girl stayed home from school yesterday. She has not been feeling good for a few weeks. I started her on antibiotics yesterday because her throat is red now and she said it hurt. She was also running a fever and now she woke up two times last night with a nose bleed. I hope she is able to go to school today because I do not want her to get too far behind.
Benjamin spent the night with me last night and will stay here today. He needs a rest from Pre school. It is hard for those little ones to have to be so structured all of the time. He enjoys staying here and helping me. We have a lot more rocks to paint today for my yard. The ones he painted for me Sunday are scattered all about and he enjoyed looking at all of them again last night and talking about what a good job he did painting them. I think Benjamin has more self confidence than any kid I have ever seen. He was talking to Amanda Sunday on the phone. He told Amanda, very nicely, she needed to talk plainer because she was hard to understand. He then asked her if she was going to school. When she told him yes he informed her she needed to get them to teach her how to talk plainer. He knows school is a place to learn. I hope he does just fine in Kindergarten next year at VVL.
Benjamin is taking swimming lessons again at VVL. Missy takes him on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. He loves the water and is not one bit afraid to get his head wet. He worries me to death how he gets into deep water and just stays there bobbing up and down. He is getting so tall pretty soon there will be no water at the beach that is over his head. I will rest easier then.
My coffee is great this morning. I have been getting up every morning around 4 AM. I really enjoy the quiet and it is getting day light so early now. May is here and we have not had a 100 degree day yet. Sometimes I have had to turn the air on in March but not this year. I have used Mike's ugly swamp cooler some days. Most days I have not needed anything other than the ceiling fans to stay comfortable.
My girl will only be here 36 more days. I just will be lost without her. We have plane tickets to get her home and for Missy, Benjamin, and me to fly back we will be out there a week. It will be nice to see Kris's new home. I am so glad Missy and Benjamin are coming with us. After that episode I had on the plane that one flight I would hate to have a problem and only be with Mackenzie. It would worry her to death. Kenzie is excited about us coming out but not about going home. It has been a once in a life time visit for me. I have loved it all.
Bill had to take a work trip out to Oregon again and was at Kris's last weekend and I think he will be there again this weekend. He took a big box of Kenzie's stuff home for us. I think we will be able to get the rest of her things in suitcases when we go out in June. We will be able to take 8 bags and I am sure the clothes Missy, Benjamin, and I need will be able to fit into two suitcases nicely. Hopefully the other six will get all of her stuff home. You know it takes a lot for a kid to stay 8 months with you.
