That's how long it took me to make this spaghetti and homemade sauce...
Benjamin told me he was hungry today. He loves spaghetti. I knew I could make it fast but I decided to see how long it actually took... First I grabbed a pound of hamburger out of the freezer and threw it in the microwave set on 1 minute...Then I grabbed a big pot and added about 4 cups of water....It actually does not take as much water to cook spaghetti, (or angel hair pasta, which is what I use,) as you think it takes...
I turned the big pot on high and added a lid. Then I grabbed the hamburger out of the microwave and smashed up the hamburger that I had frozen in a zip lock bag... It was about half thawed...I tossed it back in for another minute ....I took a skillet and set it on the burner on high....I went to the freezer and grabbed frozen garlic, I had all ready minced and frozen onions I had chopped. Back to the stove the microwave was done and the meat was thawed and not cooked on the edges which I can not stand it when it is cooked in the microwave. I threw the meat in the skillet and added the frozen minced garlic and a handful of frozen onions. I also added the dried Italian spices to the meat.
By cooking all of the spices in with the meat you get a lot of the flavor without having to simmer the sauce for a long time. When the meat was almost done the water was boiling, I added salt and the angel hair pasta to the boiling water and put the lid back on the pot. I got 1 can of crushed tomatoes and 1 can of cream of tomato soup. I added this to the meat mixture once the meat was browned ...I turned down the stove to med. heat. Stirring the sauce I waited for the pasta to cook. It took 13 minutes from start to finish to make Benjamin some spaghetti.
