At the park yesterday I noticed this tree had been cut down...Then I noticed the bench...Cut down may not have been the correct term.
Betty was talking about Birthdays yesterday. We have 2 big ones this month. Benjamin will be 5 on the 3rd and Mackenzie will be 11 on the 10th.
They sent out a flyer 2 weeks ago at Kenzie's school calling all Kinder Gardeners. Benjamin headed the call. Missy signed him up last week. The Secretary at the school told Missy she reminded her of me. Yesterday when I took Kenzie her lunch the Secretary told me she had seen my Daughter. I told her yes, next year I would have another Grand Child here and she would be seeing a lot of me. I am sure she was thrilled. Missy asked if she jumped for joy when I told her and I said no but she did manage a smile. I am sure she did not have a smile inside.
When I took kenzie lunch last week it was a surprise. Mackenzie and I had not set it up ahead of time where she knew to come to the office to pick up lunch at lunch time. So I asked the Secretary to call her up to the office. It was only a minute till their recess. She said she would let her know. I informed her the last time I had dropped it off, Kenzie did not get a call and did not know I had brought lunch. The Secretary commented, 'It only happened once?' She was trying to be funny and nice. She really was I could tell and I am not being snide. I told her once was enough for Granny and I would just sit right here till Kenzie came up. She told me it would be about 10 minutes. I stated that was fine. I was very tired but I would just roll up up Jacket here and use as a pillow and rest. You know she decided to call her to the office right then. Imagine that!
As I look back I have never gotten along with the secretaries at the schools very well and honestly I do not know why.
Since Kris does not have time to read my blog I will just tell everyone that Melissa, Benjamin, Mackenzie, and I am going to Vegas this Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I am taking Mackenzie out of school 2 days to go to Vegas. Marvin and Rhea are going to be there all next week. I want to meet up with Rhea and when else will Mackenzie get a chance to go to Vegas? Not till she is at least 21 and old enough to take herself. There is not a lot of things for kids to do there but I am sure there is enough for 2 days. Plus we are staying at the Luxor so it will be nice. We will spend a lot of time at Circus Circus but I did not want to have to sleep there. You know how I am about Hotels. Rhea said she knew of one family show and they have the M&M Factory there plus the kids will love the light show on Fremont Street. They also have the Lions at the MGM. There are some rides but they will all be too big for Benjamin. They do have a zoo just a little way from the strip and we will have Missy's car to get around. Now Bill, do not tell your Sister we are going till after we leave on Sunday.
Mackensie is turning 11. She thinks she is so old and so big. She still has not decided on a Birthday party yet. I am sure we will send treats to school Wednesday and Wednesday evening she has Girl Scouts and we will take treats for that. I guess we will have some friends from school over for a party sometime after her birthday but we have no definite plans yet. We need to decide but so far we have just talked about Vegas. Maybe she and Benjamin will get to see Elvis.

Kenzie will be the only girl that can tell her friends--we celebrated my birthday in Las Vegas! I bet she loves it. She can see some great shows...it will make memory.
Vegas sounds like the perfect place for an ll year old. The people who only go to gamble miss a lot of good stuff.
Have fun.
Have a wonderful trip. I think it's great you're taking her out of school to go along. Call it a field trip, and she can give a report when she goes back to school and receive and extra grade. How have you been feeling?
