Christmas Food...

We had a brunch for Christmas day....Everyone was supposed to be here by 9:30 and Austin is so popular he had to be back home by 11:30 to open more gifts with more Relatives...I think I figured out one time he has like 6 granny's...

Anyway I made sausage rolls in croissants, Pigs in puffed pastry, spinach dip, salsa, ham and cream cheese roll ups, fresh fruit, pumpkin pie, truffles, and Laura's desert....When I went to Laura's house last year she had this desert, a pastry type thing...I told Kris about it because it was delicious and she asked for the recipe from Laura...Here it is...http://sunshinespeechteach.blogspot.com/2009/12/for-scrapbook-diehard.html So instead of our usual Cinnamon ring I made this...

I used home made strawberry preserves but then I put in some fresh black berries, raspberries, and blue berries...It was so good...But we had so much to eat there was a lot of it left over...I have been eating a slice every morning with my coffee..I really like things baked fresh. Many people have told me they are still eating my cinnamon ring 3 or 4 days after I give it to them...I always ask how it is fit to eat that many days later...they all say the same thing...'I heat it in the microwave and put a slab of butter on it!...Laura your tart is just as good 3 days later heated in the microwave with a slab of butter on it!...

Missy bought me some bird feed yesterday so Benjamin and I filled all of the bird feeders in the yard...It is cold in the mornings here 33 today but will hit 68...So the birds are hungry...I told Benjamin once they find the feed they will call of their friends and the yard will be full...I had about 25 birds in the yard last evening. I called Benjamin to let him know....Mostly sparrows but also some red Finch and of course my little doves...We do not have real colorful birds here..

Mike got me a new camera for Christmas.. It is another point and shoot which is all I need. It is a Kodak C190...It has a big screen on the back and you can hit the automatic shoot plus it has a smart thing so when I take a picture into the sunny window it automatically adjusts...that would have been nice to know BEFORE I took so many Christmas pictures shooting towards the Arcadia door...and they were dark...I have tried it out and it works...best part is...once you turn on the smart button, when you turn off the camera and then back on that smart button stays on so I do not even have to remember to re punch it! Good Thing!

Fleta...Not to be picky but....You left out Mama's Birthday on the calendar this year...It is Jan. 24th...also I think that was Thelma's wedding day...but I think we really need Mama's Birthday filled in...I am making a calendar ...one way or another...So please add in Mama so I do not have to hand write it on every ones! If you left out anyone else like me please fill it in also....do you need us 8 kids birthdays...I do know them...I'm sure you have all of the really OLD DEAD people memorized....
