Now Governor Sanford, after a long rambling speech admitted to having an extra marital affair with a woman from Argentina…
We all know these announcements are frequent in political life anymore. As Rachael Madow stated most politicians offer a short apology to their families and the country and then lay low for awhile…awhile depending on ….
Was the affair with another man?
Was it with an under age Girl?
Did it result in a death?
Is your wife dying of cancer?
All of these things factor in to figure out how long they have to lay low. Also no one when giving one of these statements answer questions. The statement is usually short and sweet….But not Sanford’s. He rambled on for 12 minutes and then took questions from the press…
A press agent stated ‘He looked like a very troubled man.’…I think maybe he wondered around in the Appalachians too long…The same press man said “The Republican Party is going South, all the way to South America.”
While Sanford was giving his teary eyed apology, his wife was not standing by his side….No; she was out in the parking lot handing out a written response….Now that is a new approach…But when you are not the one having done something wrong you can afford to be bold…
Apparently during Sanford’s career he has preached ‘high morals,’ calling for the resignation of other politicians after they announced to having extra marital affairs. Talk about coming back to haunt you..
Sanford was one of the big 12 Republican Presidential hopefuls for 2012…Well I say, they still have Palin…Don’t you know she is celebrating over this announcement…
