Sunny and hot Friday...

There is no more guessing about it, summer is here! It topped out at 101 yesterday and should be that warm today.

The yard guy trimmed up my Mimosa tree, as you can tell. It looks so much better.

Fleta has her knee scoped this morning sometime around 11. I am sure that will all turn out just fine.

Bill installed a small dogie door for Benjamin's little dog and he is going in and out of the house, at will. He is a lot cooler now.

Cousin Winnie is at her camper this weekend. I wonder if she is fishing yet.

I had my Herceptin treatment yesterday and was home by 11. They were really on the ball yesterday.

I have to have a new tire put on the back of my Vette this morning, sometime. I need to call Brian and see if it has come in yet.

Speaking of tires...
Last Tuesday when I picked up Austin from school, I was in Mike's truck. When we got three miles from home the tire started going thump, thump with each rotation. Austin said, 'Granny the tire is coming apart. It's the front one.' I pulled over to look.

As soon as I stopped the truck Austins hand was on the door handle , ready to jump out. I told him he had to stay in the truck. We were not on a busy street but there was traffic.

After I looked at the front tire and did not see anything I started around the truck looking. Austin informed me there was no use doing that because it was his front tire making the noise. He was sure.

Mike was at the house and I called him to tell him I had some kind of tire problem but it was hard to hear because Austin was hanging out the truck window telling me what to tell him...Every time Mike would say something I would repeat it to make sure I heard and then Austin would give me an answer for him.... 'Tell him it's coming apart...tell him it is on my side ... tell him it's the front tire...tell him we are going to try to get it home...tell him we didn't run over anything'...

I climbed back in the truck and Austin he said, 'We're going to limp it home. Go really slow and I will watch for cars behind us.' Ever time a car got close Austin would tell me to 'Pull it over' so the guy could pass....

At one point I told Austin I would turn on the emergency flashers but I do not know where the button is. Austin thought it should be easy to find because 'emergency, would be a long word.'

When we got home Mike was outside waiting for me and I came in the house and left Austin and him outside to figure out what was wrong. Finally they came in the house and Austin announced, 'It was coming apart. We need two new tires, Granny.' Mike put the spare on and called Brian.

I shutter to think how many times that Boy has been in a car with Bill, and had to stop along the side of the road for a repair. He was right in his element.
