More Pills....

I just returned from the dermatologist’s office. I still have those awful hives. How long has it been, 7 months, I think.

The Doctor came into the room and asked if I still had the rash and I told her yes. Then she asked the question that I knew she was going to ask, “How often are you taking the pills?” The answer is not one a Doctor likes to hear but I replied, “Whenever.”

I went on to explain that she made a big mistake two months ago when she told me I could take up to 300 mgs. of Hydroxyzine a day and it would not hurt me. Therefore, I no longer take them on a schedule instead it is just whenever I itch.

I did show her that I had 9 pills of Dexeprin and 3 pills of Hydroxyzine still in the bottles from 29 days ago when I had the prescriptions filled. The two prescriptions totaled 150 pills. The Doctor thought this was fine and she could make the prescriptions stronger if I wanted. I told her if they were any stronger I would be asleep.

This is the upside of having stage four cancer. The Doctors do not care how many pills you take. They figure in the whole scheme of things it really does not matter. I kind of like that attitude.
