I watched all of the debate and afterwards switched from channel to channel to get all of the views I could. Well, except Fox news.
McCain did better than I expected. I thought he would be worse sitting down in the way they were at the table. Actually I think it helped him because he did not look like an old fool with Alzheimers wandering around lost on the stage.
McCain’s remark about Obama not running against Bush hit the mark. It is a shame someone did not give him that line 6 months ago because then it might have made a difference.
I too caught McCain’s mistake confusing Down syndrome with Autism when he was referring to Palin…She may not know the difference either.
McCain bringing up Joe Plumber 21 times was a little much. But the media did track down Joe Plumber and he said he was going to vote for McCain, he thought.
McCain lost the last of the middle age, middle class, white women when he brought up abortion. There are not many women my age that do not think a woman should have control over her body even we personally do not agree with abortion. Thank you Roe v. Wade that happened in 1973 and was one of the decisions that came about in the lives of women my age, I was 19 years old at that time.
I think the person Obama does not have yet is the middle age, middle class, white male. I think John McCain connected last night with that segment of Americans better than Obama. I guess the good news about that is, thanks to Bush there are not many ‘Middle Class’ people left.
According to all of the poles I have seen they show cool Obama won the debate. We will have to wait and see if the American public will really vote for him or are they just saying they will to be politically correct. When American Joe, Joe the Plumber, Six Pack Joe, is alone in that ballot box will he vote for Obama or will his ‘true colors’ come out.
