STRIKE!

Boeing’s main plant is located in Seattle Washington and that is where my Son-in Law, Darrel, works. There Boeing employees are strong union. The Union Members voted to strike today. The members were saying Boeing made its largest profits ever last year and they should share that with the employees. Their thinking, if you can’t get a good raise during the good years where will we be during the bad years. Boeing trying to outsmart the Union workers tried to appease just 34% of the voters by offering better deals to the newer employees raising their pay and offering juicey bonuses. This did not work! Boeing Union Members had to have 66% members vote to strike and 89% of the members voted to strike. This was to happen at 3:00AM during the graveyard shift. Some big wig from Washington and the head of Boeing came down and talked to Union Heads and they got a 48 hour reprieve. Darrel said the Union workers almost tore the union hall down in Seattle when they got the news. They had all of their picket signs ready and were willing to walk. So Darrel is working today and tomorrow but Boeing will have to come across because their members are serious.
