Fred Thompson jumped on this....at a church forum Obama was asked ( by a Preacher) when he thought life began....and as we know in politics there is no right answer to this question...Obama replied....""Well, you know, I think that whether you're looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade," the Illinois senator replied.
On the abortion rights issueObama supports abortion rights, while GOP nominee-in-waiting John McCain is opposed. Thompson also is opposed, though he faced criticism during his presidential campaign because he lobbied in 1991 for an abortion rights group. He also answered a 1994 newspaper survey by saying, "The ultimate decision on abortion should be left with the woman and not the government."
Now I think if you say it should be left up to the woman you also would have to be pro rights....cause if the woman chooses to have an abortion how can you know say she did wrong...If you think she has the right to make the decision.
Anyway...he belittled Obama's answer but this season those words will probably be put into a script on "Law and Order" coming out of Thompsons mouth...cause it was a pretty good dodge...
