Sunday I got up and made an angel food cake. It is one of the cakes Benjamin can eat cecause it does not have a lot of sugar. I made the fig oatmeal cookies to go with my coffee in the mornings. They were not very good. I like a flat cookie and these were more cake like....to much flour. My baking does not always turn out great but I can tell what is wrong with them. 
Then Yesterday I made these buns. This one pan is all I made. Usually I make twice this many buns plus cinnamon rolls. My buns had not been the greatest lately, I was adding to much yeast, so I scaled it down and these were really good. I set up with Bettina, (Austin's) Mamma that I would pick Austin up after school, take him to a play ground for a few minutes, have a snack and then take him home. Austin likes these rolls so I took him some. Austin probably had them for supper.
Austin had big things to tell me because he went to CA last weekend with his Mama, cousin, and Grandma. His cousin is a girl and only 4 years old and kind of a tag along according to Austin, but you can tell he really loves her and they are very close. He was a joy as always with big tales to tell. Some kid poured water on him that day. I asked Austin the kids name Austin replied like I was stupid for asking since he is new at this school, "I have NO idea Granny, but you know what color of clothes he was wearing?...Yeah, right, red, he was wearing red. Mean kids always wear red!"

Where oh where do you get all of your energy? The buns look delicious as well as the cake and cookies. I haven't baked anything from scratch in so long. I use mixes or frozen dough. I did make up some no bake cookies a few weeks ago, and they did turn out pretty good if I do say so myself, but that's not really baking.
I always ask...what is so and sos last name. The answer is always I don't know. I like to get names.
oh so yes actually we had the rolls for dinner and they were great. Austin told me that you make some to put mashed potatoes in which he did with one of them.. Thank you for them and taking him for some granny time, he really loves you and all you do.. Hope the baking gets better I have my off days too..
