Dr. appointment today....

I went to see Dr. Calvacant, my oncologists, today. First thing he asked me what I thought was causing my problems and I said I think it is that new chemo he had me on. He said he thought that also. So there was no battle of wills, thank goodness! He felt my neck and under both arms and said he felt NO lumps at all and that was great. He took me off those 2 chemo treatments and put me on Herceptin. This should make me feel much better he said. I will go in every 3 weeks and have a treatment for the next 6 months. I will not have to take the nasty pills on Thursdays but will still have to have blood drawn. My blood pressure was 130 over 60.

I guess this is Daddy's birthday present ...he would be so glad that you did not have to suffer through those drugs. He loved us all so. I remember he said he wished he could take Erin's cancer and bear it for her...When he called me at Children's in L R he cried and said he did not think he could find a way there...I told him I would be fine and I was...barely.

Good luck with the new drug. Hope it doesn't give you any side effects. Blood pressure looked good to me. Mine was 145/65 this past week when I went to my oncologist. They take mine between my wrist and elbow, rather than pump that thing up so hard and tight above the elbow.

Have a great week-end.
