Calendar

Hello...Sister sent me this link for 2009, 2010, and 2011 calendars...I would suggest you pull it up and book mark it....She is getting very testy about re dos....http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~powell/Calendars/

I am still making all of us a 2010 calendar...but I am so slow I needed 2011 for the January page because yall will not receive it in time to see Jan 2010...Before I get it done it may have to be half 2010 and half 2011...I am not nearly as competent at this as Fleta...

Bill, Kimmie, and the kids have been here since last week. They went home yesterday. I got the house cleaned yesterday and I plan on working on that calendar today...Since I can spread everything out on the floor without Lexi's help.

Tuesday...

My house is still pretty clean and I am doing laundry today. Last night after Kenzie went to sleep she sweated so much she was wet all over. I am sure she must of had a temp and I did not know it. She did not and does not appear sick at all but she sure did sweat...So I stripped my bed this morning and she had another shower. She appeared fine this morning and has almost made it through the day. So I probably will not get a call to pick her up...

Kenzie and I went to Dunkin Doughnuts this morning for breakfast. She enjoyed it. I am cooking pinto beans and ham for supper. Oh yes, and for cornbread we will have to have a Jiffy mix. I wish Clayton with his cast iron skillet and make me some good cornbread. Mama made great cornbread....Must have been all of that practice she had. It seemed like we had it every night. We all remember the cracklings Daddy loved in the cornbread... Debby did not like them at all.

My spaghetti I made yesterday was full of vegetables but everyone ate it and they thought it was good. Well, all except Kenzie. She picked at it and when I finally said she had to eat it all she took big bites holding her nose!

clean house...

At least most of it.
I have vacuumed, mopped, dusted, shined the kitchen, cabinets and all, and washed the rugs. Now if everyone was out of bed I could do the bedrooms. it is amazing what you can get done when you start your day at 2 AM. It is only 5AM. Kenzie will be up at 7 but I will need to take a shower then so I imagine this is all of the cleaning I will get done today.

It is nice to have a clean house.

I am making spaghetti for supper and I am putting egg plant, yellow squash, and mushrooms in the sauce. I'd better dice them up really small so no one will know or it will not be eaten.

I made an apple pie and a banana cream pie Saturday and I noticed the pans in the sink this morning. Bill and Kimmie are here cleaning up their rental house so I need to cook something else. Bill loves lemon cake. I may make one of them.

Girl Scouts...

Mackenzie has been in Girl Scouts for 3 years I think...It may be 4. Anyway selling cookies can be pretty scary for a little Girl Scout..
Please be nice to all of them, even if you don't buy any cookies...When we went door to door everyone was nice to her. I was right there behind her.

At the last troop meeting I had to go in for the last 30 minutes of the meeting because they had to explain about selling cookies. During that time the leader was explaining how we had just lost our meeting snack mom. I think she moved. About 2 minutes into her speech of what we could do I raised my hand and said, "If you are trying to get around to , we need a new snack person, I'm your gal." Even though I was rude they gladly excepted me. Mackenzie said earlier in the meeting the leader was telling the girls they had lost the snack mom and they might not be able to have snacks at the meeting. Mackenzie told the leader, 'My Granny will do snacks, that is our kind of job." I'm not sure what she meant by that, Granny likes to cook, or Granny likes to snack, but we have big plans for snacks at the next meeting.

I am up early again this morning. I have a Doctors appointment, I have to get Kenzie to school, I need to clean house, and Mackenzie has Tumbling at 6:30 this evening.
She always tries to be so sweet. We cleaned out the Jacuzzi yesterday, so she got to take a dunk in it last night. She loved it.

Fresh Salsa...BTW 62 degrees here right now...

Today I made fresh salsa....It is so good I could eat it with a spoon...

3 cloves garlic smashed and chopped
1 med red onion chopped
5 radishes chopped
1 jalapeno pepper chopped
1/3 cilantro chopped
I place these ingredients in my little chopper and finely chop all together
Then I added 8 diced tomatoes and give it a few chops to mix
Add salt, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.

I do not usually have the radishes but they do add flavor.
It was so good.
I had a taco salad for lunch. I used 2 leaves of lettuce about a tablespoon of taco meat, a tablespoon full of refried beans, and about 1 cup of salsa on top....It was really good.
