I have the smartest boy....

Tonight Mackenzie had Girl scouts. They meet right over by Missy's house. I always go there and wait the 90 minutes that Mackenzie is in the Girl Scout Meeting. Tonight when I got to her house Missy was on this VERY tall ladder stringing Christmas lights on her roof...I was helping her by instructing ...I did not want to be late picking Mackenzie at 7:30 so I had asked Missy several times, ' what time is it?'

It is cool out this evening and my nose has been running. I asked again what time it was, she told me it was 7:06. I said I had to go into the house and wash my hands and blow my nose. Benjamin said, "Why Granny, is this the time you always blow your nose?' I told him yes every day at 7:06 I have to blow my nose.....

Since Missy had worked on her house all evening and the boy had not had supper yet and because she still had to go to Wal Mart for something. Benjamin gets to spend the night with Granny so he does not have to get up so early in the morning...He will be here all day tomorrow....

Brother's Black Friday Shopping Trip....

I spoke to Brother this morning on the phone and since he does not blog I will tell you his story as he told it to me.

On Thanksgiving Day he went down to Marshall to have dinner with Kathy’s kids. Apparently Kathy’s Daughter had got a paper and was looking through the Black Friday adds. Wal Mart had a certain flat screen TV that she wanted for her Daughter (Kathy’s Grand Daughter) to use in her dorm but she had to work that day and could not make it to Wal Mart. Brother being the nice guy he is said, ‘Oh, I will go get that for you.’ He figured, drive over to Berryville, go to Wal Mart, pick up a TV, how bad can that be….

My Melissa who has been a Black Friday shopper for YEARS can tell you that shopping on Black Friday is a full contact sport and not for the faint of heart. Anyone that has ever shopped Black Friday knows that a novas Black Friday shopper needs to start out at a JC Penny’s or a Sears store the first year and work up to a Wal Mart or Toys-R-Us.

So brother gets up Friday morning thinking he will make a pot of coffee and take him a cup and amble over to Wal Mart and pick up a TV. When he got up he was surprised Kathy was up and dressed with the coffee all ready made. She wanted to go along….Now between you and me I think she knew how it would be and when Clayton saw the parking lot at Wal Mart he would turn around and go home…

Clayton said when he got to Wal Mart he liked to never found a spot to park and he was surprised the Wal Mart doors were all ready open and it was not even 5:00 yet….Apparently he did not give much attention to Wal Marts law suit a few years where a man got trampled to death and now they leave the stores open to avoid that herd of people… He also was surprised that there were police there and two ambulances there…

So Brother gets into the store and he said 'there was not room to walk.' He finally makes it back to electronics waits in line only to find out the line for the TV’s is over in the automotive department…makes since to me…The store clerk told him she thought that there were all ready more people in line than they had TV’s…

Brother makes it to Automotive. He said, ‘By now I have been hit and run over a half a dozen times by old people with canes and walkers and such.’ If the old people were running him over this should have been a clue to him he was in over his head…

When he got over to automotive he said, ’You should have seen the line!’…Sure enough there were already more people waiting than they had TV’s. He told Kathy he was going to the truck.

The trip was not a total loss. Apparently our Cousin Sharon was checking and he stopped and had a nice chat with her. Clayton said they probably only had three TV’s…I could have told him if they had three and Missy had wonted one she would have gotten one…

Clayton said, ‘This was a once in a lifetime experience!’ I do not think he meant everyone should experience it at least once. I think he meant he will never do it again. He is truly a novice, naive, Black Friday shopper. He probably asked Santa Clause for a ‘Red Ryder’ BB gun not realizing he could shoot his eye out with it….

T-S

Following Patsy and Fleta on my header....

The Girl got up early and we took two Cinnamon Rings to Carol Ray Ranch School...The office Girls were glad to see Kenzie, there was hugs all around. The Secretary said she had been keeping tabs on Kenzie at VVL to see how she was doing and was very pleased with the reports she was getting on her....Notice nothing was said about reports on me. I wish I had taken my camera but I did not think of it.

It is col here today and I am not sure what I am going to do today but I am not going to sleep the day away today...

I read Pat's post about Urban Chickens. City people keeping them in the back yards for eggs. I would not think this would be allowed in the city...Even I know it would not be profitable to try to raise chickens for cheap eggs...By the time you got and raised the chickens plus all of the feed I would be in the hole money wise...Plus I hate birds of any kind...Well, I should not say I hate them. I am scared of them thanks to Clayton...It is all his fault for having those flogging banties in the yard when I was small....

I have the kitchen cleaned up from the early morning baking but I am sure I should be doing something constructive...My car needs a bath....Maybe I will do that...

Austin...

Austin was over at my house 2 days this weekend and we had a good time...He will be having a birthday in a few days...He has been wanting a Lego set since months ago...He has tried to save up his money but it is $100. and it is hard to save that much when you are only 6...

When I had him a few weeks ago and went to take him home he wanted to stop and eat at McDonald's...Remember he did not know what slop he might be getting for supper! Haaa

So we stopped at a McDonald's a few miles from my house. When we pulled into McDonald's parking lot it just happened to be the same one Toys-R-Us is in...He got so excited...Stating something like 'And look Granny, there is the store that has that $100. Lego Set I have been wanting...You could get me that for my birthday. I know how you forget things, just remember it is the store right by this McDonald's. Can you remember that, Granny? Repeat it for me...The Lego set for Austin is in the store right by the McDonald's...'

He knows his Granny!

Bad News...

This is the first thing I read this morning on MSN....I knew it was coming but I was a little surprised at the number...It makes me sick to my stomach for every Mother's Son and Daughter...

WASHINGTON - Declaring “our security is at stake,” President Barack Obama ordered an additional 30,000 U.S. troops into the long war in Afghanistan on Tuesday night, nearly tripling the force he inherited but promising an impatient public to begin withdrawal in 18 months.
