I have been at Missy’s looking after Benjamin. I gave Missy a treat and she took my vette up to Payson. It is a pretty day for a ride in a convertible. It is always cooler in Payson but today it is only 86 here in the valley and 81 in Payson so she did not get a lot cooler today.
I also have cleaned her house today and that should be a real treat for her...
I have been hoping for rain today….maybe we will get some this evening. My yard could use it…

It's Raining, It's Pouring....
I spent last night at Missy’s. Benjamin, Austin, and I had a sleepover. This morning we had to get up early to take Austin to a football game. It rained buckets on us but Austin’s team won. After that, we drove Austin to Globe and met Kimmie there to pick up Austin. Globe is about half way to Show Low. On our trip back home Benjamin had Melissa pull the car over so he could use the outdoor bathroom. Once Benjamin got out of the car he wanted to climb one of the mountains along the road we were on. Missy told him no, we are not climbing any mountains. Benjamin was upset and told his Mama there was a lot of the world he had not seen. He is only four but by the tone in his voice he may just take off any day to see the world.
After I got home I had to go to the pharmacy and pick up some prescriptions….How I love insurance companies. Mike has new insurance since August 1 and this company will not pay for 30 days of my sleeping pills….They only want to pay for 14 days a month. I guess I am only supposed to sleep every other day. I will call the Doctor and insurance company Tuesday and see if anything can be done. Out of pocket the other 16 pills will cost me $97. I am not sure how much sleeping is worth.
On a better note, I was watching a cooking show this week that used Quinoa as an alternative to rice. Quinoa is very high in protein. I went to the Fresh-N-Easy store by my house and picked up 2 pounds of Quinoa. I cooked some in my rice cooker just like I cook rice and it tastes very good. I was glad to find it because it is very hard for me to eat meat. I do not know why but it is hard to choke it down anymore and I end up eating a lot of rice and pasta which is not very good for me.
Every once in awhile I just think of someone that was famous and I wonder what happened to that person. I usually can not remember if they are alive or dead. Well, the other day I thought of the country singer Tom T Hall. He is still alive. I then got on You Tube and listened to several of his old songs, many of them I had forgotten about. He sure could tell a story better than any singer I have heard….Something like 130 of his songs (including ones he wrote for other people) hit the top 10 at one time or another. He wrote Itty Bitty, that song Alan Jackson made into a hit a few years ago.

Reading the News This Morning....
I read this morning that the LA fires are 38% contained but they have burned 226 sq miles and dozen of homes. It has cost billions to fight these fires which were said to be started by arson. I think Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger needs to get into his terminator mode and put an end to stupid people who do these kinds of things.
I read a headline this Morning about the NC man that made phone calls threaten Obama’s life was sentenced. I was glad someone finally had received justice for threatening our President. But when I read the story the guy got suspended sentence and probation.
I have been very upset over the lack of people being prosecuted that are threaten our President especially since last week while Obama was here in AZ and protesters were openly carrying around assault rifles..
Back in April a Texas man who had made threats against Obama also got probation….Isn’t Texas where they ‘Try um and fry um?’ Of course that is Bush country…
Back in Feb the New York Post had that awful cartoon about the dead chimpanzee and a reference to the writing of the next stimulus bill. The NYP said it was not meant at Obama…If the NYP can openly write smut like that I can see this country has a big problem….
And what ever happened to those good ole boys from MO or AR that dressed up in the white tuxedoes and loaded in a car going to ‘get’ Obama while he was running for president? Remember them? I need to follow up on that one.
It was just this week a preacher from right here in Tempe AZ openly preach he prays Obama will die. I'm glad I do not go to that church...
In June a woman in Lexington named Fisher was threatening to kill Obama and bush saying, "In reference to President Obama, she stated 'somebody's going to eventually threaten to kill President Obama. It might as well be me,' I can’t find anything that happened to her.
I am sick of all of these threats and the people need to be fully punished and perhaps this would help to put an end to all of this foolishness…..I think we should start with the press..And the Preachers….
I also read more about Diane Schuler, the New York woman, who drove a van filled with five children the wrong way down the parkway, was drunk and high on marijuana at the time of the accident. Her family is still denying she had a drinking or drug problem and they want her body exhumed to test further. There were three men in the van she hit and killed and some of their family members are trying to sue Schuler’s husband…..I don’t see any deep pockets here, they might want to re think this one….
Michael Jackson is finally in the ground. There are so many things I could say about this…But instead I will just say I am sure his Mama is glad.
I went to google to try to find some ‘funny’ news to add to the bottom of this post, but I could not find anything….Maybe I need to look in the NYP for a cartoon….

For The Record.....
I just want to say that although many times I have been in a Wal Mart where there is a screaming kid and I utter half under my breath...'That Mama needs to slap that kid!' I did not mean it, I was only joking.....Unlike the stranger outside a Wal Mart in Georgia while he was searching for something outside, he kept hearing a two year old kid screaming ...He went inside the store and hunted down the kid and told the mother...If you can't get that kid to shut up, I will....Then slapped the baby four times... Some men in the store grabbed him and held him till the Police came and arrested him....I saw his mug shot and as Austin would say, 'He looked like an EVIL man.'
Clayton and Clayton...
The more this health care debate goes on, the more I am dumbfounded at how stupid some people are. At one of the rallies against health care a lady spoke out and stated she was against Government run health care but wanted her Medicare to be left alone. Then earlier this week on a news program..(I think it was on MSN but I'd love to be able to say Fox because I love to give them the credit for stupid things being said)...one guest on the news show turned to another guest and said, 'If you are not opposed to Medicare, why don't you have it?' The man was obviously too young and he stated he was in his 40's and was to young....But the guest that was running down Government health care seemed to not know you had to be 65 to get medicare...Obviously she had more money than sense....which seems to often be the case with people opposed to it...
In just a few days my brother, Clayton, will be 65...I am sure he is looking forward to Medicare kicking in...He will not be one of those people cussing Government run health care....I can tell you he is all for it!
It still amazes me how he got a name sake.....and such a good looking boy!
