Now to answer about the glass... The people who owned this house and land for YEARS... had a dump like we did in the holler...except theirs was in the yard. It was not their yard when they started dumping...That was at least when purex bottles were brown glass... When they started dumping here it was a field and they lived in a house on the next acre...Then in 1980 they sold that old house and built one here. At one time this old man owned most of what is now called Smokey Point.. When he died he had sold all of the land piece by piece except this 1 acre the kids now own. All around them are houses on very small lots.

The man had at least 2 boys...They were not hard up because they drank a lot of pop.. in the green bottles and the old fanta bottles...and they burned the bottles in the trash dump... The trash dump is outlined by a bunch of trees. but it was barely covered over...then Darrel moved dirt.. OOPS thick pieces of old glass and rusted  tin can parts everywhere...I have found a bunch of Fiesta ware dishes...that is thick glass.

It is dangerous to have this in the yard. But Darrel says not to worry he has told the kids to stay out of it...Today I found 4 very small bottles in tact and the rusted lids on them. maybe old perfume bottles...very small just sitting all together...Not sure but maybe those little kids he has told to stay out of there have been digging...
