Today Mama would have been 92 years old. I do not know how she raised 8 kids. That would have been way to many for me. Now Pat takes credit for raising most of us but I do not remember that.
When Fleta, Betty, and I were growing up I remember running up on the hill and hiding all day. This was because I had done something rotten and Mama got mad and told me she was going to tell daddy when he got home. A little before daddy was to get home I would come off the hill and butter mama up so she would not tell Daddy what rotten thing I had done. Most of the time she did not tell. Fleta said this was not because she forgot but secretly loved it when I was up on the hill all day and she did not have to put up with me. that could be correct.
Patsy said I was mama's favorite. I always thought Gilbert was her favorite...Next to Debby of course. Then I always thought she had a real soft spot for Clayton. All I know for sure is her and Fleta clashed a lot and I was thankful those last few years Clayton was there to cushion Fleta from Mama. LOL
I do think she was a better Mama than I have been and I miss her a lot.

Lots of folks have their Mommas until they are 80 or 90. Momma has been gone 20 years.
I am working on your throw.
