Lean on Me...

Lean on me, I am your brother!

Faded cut-offs and a white t-shirt
Old ball cap and his coffee cup
Guess he didn't look like much,
But he's the one you really trust.
You could lean on him!

Car broke down, you call home
You know the number, same ol' one
Feel a lot better when you hear "hello"
'Cause the answer is always--"I'll come".
You could lean on him!

Even way back when you were young
"Dad, cows are up, milkings done"
Drove the yellow school bus, just a kid
Parked on the hill when the battery was dead.
You could lean on him!

Dad was gone,  and Mom all alone
Needed someone to really count on
Moved his stuff in that old back room
Took her orders like a child, tho' grown.
You could lean on him!

No, he wasn't perfect, did some wrong
But one thing you knew you could count on
If the chips were down and your money gone
You knew the number, you could call home.
You could lean on him!

I have pictures.....

on Fleta's camera at Fleta's house...

I caught Bandit today and worked with him a good while trying to get him to stretch....stretch out to make him  easier to get on. I am not sure I will ever get him to successfully stretch.

I did lead him between the riding mower and tractor and get on him...and I was able to get off him without any help. I shortened the stirrups the other day and it made such a difference in the comfort of riding. I am going to shorten them a little more...a little more because that is all they will shorten. They will be to the leg skirts in about another inch and a half plus I am going to have to make new holes to get them that short but I am doing it!

Emmie rode him by herself today and then she took Hannah for a ride. They loved it. He is VERY gentle.

It rained on me while I rode him to meeks and back. I was sitting Hannah and Robert or I would have gone a little farther...Emmie was here and they were fine.

Oh thank you so much, Kelly! I love your horse!

Robert has been sick all day. A tummy ach.

I made delicious cinnamon rolls today. Worked on Fleta's house. Washed a lot of clothes for them. Played with the horse. Cleaned Jr's kitchen and l/room...and did a load of wash for him. I also did one load of wash for me. I always use Jr's washer and dryer.....and electric and water of course...

I am now soaking my feet in a dish pan of very hot water and it feels sooooo good!

I have just been smiling all day!
